Data Analysis of Cultural and Social Challenges in Translation (Proposal)

From the analysis of the data, it is found that there are some cultural concepts that seems to have universality in it but on the other hand, they do not interpret in the same way because of the fact that each language has its unique interpretation, its way of thinking, geographic position and impact on the living style. According to the Ivir (1981: 65) the languages are differently lexicalized. Therefore, there are possibilities that the interpretation might be slightly of completely different. Subsequently, the way of thinking, taking the meaning of the world, and the cultural impact has great impact on the translation and so it is possible that the translation might gives a completely different meaning from its actual meaning.

Language is also found to develop lot of gaps that somehow leads to the language pairs overlaps. In this aspect, it is found that the translation is a complicated tasks. Subsequently, the culture and the language are closely interlinked therefore, they should be considered in the translation process. Moreover, the scholar Newmark have proposed two method while considering the translation of the cultural notions and words and accordingly he described two methods as;compotential analysis and transference. He believes that the ‘local color’ can be given to the translation from the transference in which the cultural concepts and names are kept same. Further he explains that in this method there might be some complexities for the general readership.

Furthermore, it is concluded that the language is principally dynamic and a human feature therefore; it is based on variety of adjustments and changes its existence. Moreover, the language is found as a factor that connects the cultures and also used as a source of expressing feelings and ideas and subsequently, in transferring culture, the translation and the translator plays vital role. Translation also includes the transposition of the through from the one language to a another social group. Moreover, the cultures are spreading through the greater contact with other cultures therefore, the multicultural are increasing and in the result of it the decoding, re-coding and encoding of culture is happening. Subsequently, from the overall research it is concluded that there is a deep relationship in between the language and culture and therefore, the relations of cultural and language automatically reflects through the translation.
