Mexico is a country which is not
only rich in the history but culture and tradition as well. Mexico is a country
which is made up of almost 31 states along with the one federal district. In
the Latin America, it is the third largest country with almost largest
population among others (almost more than 100 million). In the country Mexico,
there are still many of the rural areas which are not fully developed and their
lifestyle is completely as of their ancestors.
Early History:
The Olmec’s is the first known
society of the Mexico, which is being settled on the Gulf Coast which now is
known as Veracruz. This is remembered from the huge sculptures which they used
to carve from the native stones. Olmec’s society was divided into two groups of
population:
San Lorenzo, it was flourished
almost from 1200 to 900 Before Christ.
La Vent is another one in Tabasco
which was known until 600 Before Christ.
Recent History:
In 1811, a new constitution was
being established which stated that a federal Mexican republic consisted of
almost 19 states along with the four different territories. Santa Anna was a
president of the country from 1823 to 1836. In 1910 Civil war 10 took place
along with the two million casualties. In 1910, Lazaro Cardenas became the
president and he reestablished a system called as Ancient ejido system in which
establishment of communally shared farmlands took place. The new system not
only benefited the economy but the people of Mexico as well. After the Word war
II, it stimulated the development of nation along with the roads, factories and
irrigation methods. After World War II, population of the Mexico increased
abruptly. Now a days, tourism is one major contributor to the economy of the
Mexico. People from all over the world come to see the history, culture and
trends of the Mexico.
Geography:
Mexico is a country which is
bounded with the west side as well as south side through the Pacific Ocean. To
the east side, it is bounded with the help of Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico.
According to the rough estimate, country covers round about an area three times
of the size of Texas. Mexico is situated
on the Earth’s most dynamic area called as Tectonics. Mexico can also be
further divided into nine physiographic areas:
Pacific Coastal Lowlands
Baja California
Plateau of Mexican
Sierra Madre Oriental
Sierra Madre Occidental
Gulf Coastal Plain
Highlands of Southern
Yucatan Peninsula
Cordillera Neo-Volcanic
Due to Climatic characteristics
of the country Mexico along with the arrangement of the landforms, this country
has many few of the natural lakes and rivers. Only few of the permanent streams
are present in the arid Mesa del Norte and most of the drainage went into the
interior side as compared to the ocean.
Tropical side of the southeastern
Mexico, high rates of the precipitation are being produced in the infertile
yellow or reddish lateritic soil which is very rich in the aluminum hydroxides
and iron oxides. Richest soil in the whole country is the Chernozem which is
found in the Mesa Central. Grey brown desert soil occupies the largest expanses
in the arid North. This soil is very high in lime as well as soluble salts and
can be very productive when gets irrigated but in many of the cases,
salinization can become a big major problem which can further result into
barren fields.
Mexico is a very vast size
country and due to which it has wide array of the climatic conditions.
Languages at Mexico:
Majority of the population in
Mexico these days speak Spanish. According to the studies of CIA, Spanish is a
language which is being spoken by almost 92.7 percent of the Mexican
population. Almost 6 percent of the population speaks Spanish along with the other
languages like, Mayan, Nahuatl and may other regional languages.
Religions of Mexico:
Mexican revolves around the
regional values as well as church. Almost 82 percent of the population identify
themselves as a Catholics. Along with this, there are many small communities in
Mexico which consists of Jews, Muslims and Buddhists.
Values of the people of Mexico:
Family is one of the largest and
important element in the society of Mexico. They are very conscious towards
their responsibilities and fulfil them with full honesty. They extend their
families towards their cousins and even who are their close family friends.
They like to host different kind of parties at different events in which all of
the family members gather and then they have fun by being with one another and
enjoy the company of the family members. These parties are being organized to
stay in contact with the others who can’t meet on daily basis. They feel very
comfortable when any of the visitor comes at their place. They welcome them and
make them comfortable in all the possible ways.
Clothing of Mexicans:
Traditional clothing of the
Mexican women are the sleeveless tunic dresses which are also called huipil. In
previous days, the women only used to wear cotton dresses without any embroidery
on it but now traditional clothing of women’s include lots and lots of
embroidery which is of ornate. Along with this, embroider also consists of
sketches or any of the picture that has a very close connection and symbolic
meaning to them.
For men, they wear large blanket
cape which is known as Sarape. Their shoes are also a kind of wardrobe
staple. They also wear large caps like
hats to cover their heads at different events which is also full of embroidery.
Food of Mexicans:
Many of the different foods that
was originated from Mexico are now popular in the whole world like Chocolates,
Avocados and pumpkins. Mexico is famous for its tequila which is specially made
from a plant known as cactus. In drinks, soda is considered to be a very
popular one. Mexico is a country that is well developed in the beverage
industry.
