Herman Melville was greatest personality who has make his
name in the world of the literature being novelist, writer, poet and short
story. He also knew as the greatest poet in American Renaissance period. He has
got lot of fame due to his particular works such as his novel “Moby-Dick”, Typee
and a romantic account according to the Polynesian life. This essay will be discussed
about the life and history of the Herman Melville. His way of living will also
discuss in this essay and his great work which he had done to participating in
the literature of the world will be summarized in the essay by taking him in
account [1].
Herman Melville was born in to once well-known family of the
New York on Aug 1819. He was grown in the financially instable environment as
well as genteel deception. Herman Melville was started to support his family
after the death of his family and at that time he was working various jobs in
various sectors teaching to banking sectors, but his aim was only to support
his family. As seaman it was his adventure in 1845 and Melville was inspired by
it and starts writing. At the beginning of his writing journey he had taken
start form the Typee and he held for many months for struggling about this. His
first literary success was become as the “Peep at Polynesian life” [2]
Melville had started to learning about the shipwreck and he
got teaching oh his one of ho follower who was the son of his survivors. There
was some type of the ocean disasters had occur in 1820 due to which many lives
of the ocean got ruined but Melville was busy to enjoying this all procedure
because this was term from where he can get little bit of knowledge. He always
thought he would be eaten by natives whenever few of their castaways were
spending their life by eating their dead shipmates. Melville always think about
the few fantasy and curious type of the ideas he wants to learn something new
for writing something creative [3].
Melville was chiefly known for his dictatorial by the name
of the Moby-Dick and many other prose works. He was also known as the
fascinating poet who have been turning in to the art work after finding the
good appreciating for his fictional work in the fiction field. His conventional
working was compared with the complexity of the thoughts in which the verbal
richness of his novel was also included. This all phenomena has lead him to
going downward than many other famous author and poets such as Emily Dickson
and Walt Whitman who was the well know
poet of the 19th century. Melville was always struggling to meeting
and competing with all well-known poets of the 19th century and he
was to get his own name on the front of the page of the history of the poet’s
world [4].
Now a day, his famous writing Moby-Dick has become the
syllabus of many high schools in the lists of the curriculum reading. This
novel was also captured as film in 1956 by John Huston who has introduced his story
for the popularity of the culture. Melville was able to incorporating the
stories according to Moby-Dick and many other works and these all stories was
describing about the examinations adventures of several inherited themes such
as; human limitations, religion verses science and emerging technology. It also included the
most popular writing named as the truth vs. American myth. There is lot of the consequences
which all the American can got be reading the Melville which center on the immoral
manifestation related to the democratic ides of the history of todays [5].
Melville had been wild by the genre of the novel for writing
in favor of the poetry, but he has got favor able prospects for publication. Melville
had require counselor post with his family as two son and daughter in 1861but
he have not found any appointment for this and the civil war had been start and
he have selected as the volunteered of the but he rejected this post. He has
got relief from the lives of his inheritances as the death of his father in-laws
which was happened at the end of the 1863 that was living in New York City.
This war has left a lot of effect on his mind he wants to furnish the subject
for his first volume as Battle- Pieces and Aspects of the War [6].
Melvile had been entered in to the lecture by bowing from the
financial need and he had also worked as banker for earning something but he
wrote lot of good novels, poetry and short stories. Later on his story has
become the part of the syllabus of the high school which was the part of his
memories. He had spoken at lyceum which was considered as the recounting his adventures
from the South Seas. He has also spent his life being custom inspector for 19
years in the New York City. Unfortunately he cannot make proper money from writing
and it became the cause of the fame for him, and he always done another work
for the earning purposes [7].
He was met to
the Mr.putnam in 1990 who was performing one man show in the street of the
South seaport museum and he has found him in his dressed. After that they have
developed their meeting for going to walking tour of Lower Manhattan and
seaport of the south street which was most near to the boyhood home of the
Melville at 6 pearl street [8].
Meliville was
died on the 28 September 1891 in New Your City United Sates. In 1885, after his
retirement two additional volumes had been published by him he left behind the
manuscript at his death which was contained on many poems and novella named as
Billy Budd [9].
After the four
days death of the Meliville it is commented by the New York time “There has
been buried died in this city according to the current time of the week and in
the advanced age, he was man who is little known even according to his name
only. The generation of today now in the vigor of the life only in newspaper
which is contained funerary account of him. This was only three or
four lines which were wrote for him and about his funeral ceremony and these
lines were presented him as tribute. The forty years ago the book was published
in the appearance of the new book by the name Herman Melville which was considered
as the esteem literary event it was not published only his own country but so
far in the race of the English speaking as England [10].
