Paul Taylor presented the life
focus centered approach on the ethics of environment. The role of this theory
is to understand the potential arguments related to nature and environment. It
is a functional approach that has provided suitable arguments about the nature
and outcomes for its respects. The role of environment is mainly to protect
living beings, but human made actions are deteriorating the concept of protection.
The theory as, ‘respect for nature’ is appropriate to provide the foundations
for the environmental ethics on the moral philosophy with the biocentrism
environment (Regulations, 2018).
Four beliefs of biocentric outlook on nature:
Humans are members of earth’s
community on same terms as other living things
All living species (human and
non) are interconnected
Each organism is a unique
individual pursuing its own good in its own way
Human beings are not inherently
superior to other living things
These main points of the theory
state the significance of human actions for environment. How it’s being
effected and what are the loss for biodiversity that is inherently linked to
the living species. This concept is important in learning the framework of environment
that how it is supporting animals and plants (Balali-Mood, Ghorani-Azam & Riahi-Zanjani, 2016).
The maintenance of biodiversity
is linked to the biosphere. This is based on the specific approach of understanding
that bio ethics and environmental potential can protect humankind, unless the potential
strategies are implemented to lessen the level of pollution.
