Microsoft
overtakes Amazon as second most valuable US Company
Microsoft Corp recovered its spot as a second most valuable US Company on
Friday after an inacceptable periodical report from Amazon.com (AMZN.O) wiped
$65 billion off an online retailer’s market capitalization. Amazon’s shares
dropped 7 percent, a most in nearly three years after its holiday season sales
outlook missed targets, fanning concerns that Wall Street’s tech darlings are

nearly 4 percent from Wednesday, when a four-decade-old software company beat
quarterly profit expectations, driven through its cloud computing business that
competes with Amazon’s. An average analyst price target by Microsoft puts its market cap at $963
