3. YouTube quietly adds 100 ad-supported
movies for free viewing
YouTube has recently and quite silently added free
feature film content for view as a result of striking a deal with the movie
studio MGM. The films feature ads presenting a good opportunity for advertisers
as well as user demand for free content. Moreover, the article stipulates that
YouTube has also launched an ad-free way of viewing longer original productions
with a premium payable package. A wider base of movie and show titles is
available for current content for rent or for sale, a similar pricing technique
followed by Apple and Amazon. The "YouTube Movies" channel has
cultivated over 70 million subscribers recently.
