Describe each of the inner planets, atmosphere

Category: Earth Sciences Paper Type: Report Writing Reference: APA Words: 700

Inner planet is the planets that are the most closet with the sun in comparison to the other planets in the solar system. Mercury, Venus, earth, and mars are known as the inner planets in our solar system. There are some common characteristics in the inner planets as all these planets have the rocky surface. If we take the deep study of these inner planets we will find out the difference and important facts about these planets (Oxlade, 2007)

Mercury is known as the second smallest planet in the whole solar system. It can be considered as the densest planet because of gravity. The distance of the mercury from the sun is more than 58 million kilometers. Venus is a spherical inner planet that is flattened at the holes because of planet rotation. However, scientists have proved that there is the more magnetic field in the Venus. The distance of the Venus from the sun is 108.2 million kilometers.

In accordance with the studies held on the solar system Venus has the longest rotation period around the sun as it rotates in opposite direction from other inner planets. The earth we live on is also an inner planet in the solar system. In all inner planets, the earth is the largest planet that has some unique features also. For instance, the earth is the only inner planet in which liquid water is available. The total distance of the earth from the sun is about 149.6 million kilometers.

The final and fourth inner planet is Mars. Mars is also known as the terrestrial planet.  Mars has largest mountains on the surface. The crust of the planet is full of iron-rich materials that makes the planet a red planet. The distance between sun and mars is 227. 9 million. While the radius of the Mars is 3390 kilometer.

Explain the greenhouse effect?

The natural process of warming the earth surface is known as the greenhouse effect. In the current situation, the temperature of the earth is increasing with the passage of time. The sunlight passing through the glass causes to increase the temperature and generate greenhouse effect. There are several reasons for the greenhouse effect on the earth. Burning fossil fuels, cutting down the forests, excessive use of chemicals in the factories that are increasing carbon dioxide in the environment (Casper, 2010). There are four greenhouse gasses that are ozone, methane, vapor, and carbon dioxide.

The greenhouse effect has some advantages for the human being as sustain life on the earth is possible because of the presence of greenhouse gases. Because of the greenhouse effect temperature of the earth can be managed. Greenhouse gasses as ozone gas prevents ultraviolet rays. Greenhouse effects are causing to bring changes in our daily life as because of greenhouse effect we are able to get off season crops.

Greenhouse effects are also supporting the human being in saving energy as through the use of green-house effects solar-powered water heaters are heating the cold water. However, there are also some disadvantages as heating because of the greenhouse effect is causing to increase global warming in the environment. Greenhouse effects are a result of the sunlight that directly interacts with the surface and increases the temperature of the earth with absorption and radiated back in the open environment of the earth. Thus we can conclude that greenhouse effects are essential for the survival of the human being but in some cases, it generates a negative impact on the environment that makes survival of the human being difficult. therefore there is need to conduct research on the greenhouse effect in order to find out the ways to eradicate the negative effects and promote the positive effects and advantages to support human being in leading a happy and healthy life.
