In
the article of Hayden; there is the focus
on the Lactobacillus; which is the interesting and good post as it is used as
the drug; there are thousands of the human
microbiome that can be used as the antibiotics. Lactobacillus is the
bacteria found in the human female vagina and it produces the chemical Lactobacilli
which is actually an antibiotic used to kill other micro organisms like
staphylococcus aurous which causes skin infection. Similarly, there are other
bacteria found on the human body which produce many chemicals which act as
antibiotics. Drug companies are working on finding more antibiotic producing
bacteria which use human body as landscape for antibiotic production. Human micro
biome is a rich source of undiscovered drugs which will be proven in near
future as a lot of work is being done in this field (Hayden, 2014).
Cell
factories for insulin production
In
the article of Nabih; there is focus on the number of diabetic
people is increasing at an alarming level which is leading to the escalating
demands of insulin. Insulin demands are increasing manifold than its
production. This article is interesting because the insulin is produced by
bacteria E.coli and yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae using their manufacturing
system. The article also evaluates the that the scientists are now working on
producing insulin using other microorganisms and transgenic plants. It is
proposed that plants will be able to produce cost-effective insulin in short
time. Moreover, pro insulin which is a form of oral insulin will be gotten from
plants in addition to the regular insulin. (Nabih A Baeshen, 2014).
Infectious
diarrhea spores survive high temperatures of hospital laundering:
In the article by the Sciencedaily.com there is foucs on the infectious
diarrhea. This article is interesting
as the article tell that the clostridium
difficle is a bacteria causing diarrhea in hospitals. This bacterium is found
in the contaminated bed sheets of the hospital and washing these bed sheets
with un-contaminated bed sheets also contaminates those. Washing bed sheets
with commercial detergents and hospital-specific thermal disinfection failed to
remove the bacteria from bed sheets; according to an experiment. The article
also evaluates the scientists are working keenly to find ways of disinfecting
bed sheets and removing Codify from the bed sheets so that rate of hospital
acquired diarrhea can be minimized. Currently no method of disinfecting bed
sheets is available. (Sciencedaily.com, 2018)
Link
found between ALS and SMA
This article is interesting as there is information
related to the ALS and SMA. In the article by
the Chakradhar; it is analyzed that the author discusses
about the Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)
are two fatal conditions occurring in adults and children respectively. Certain
links are found between two over the years. On link is that the cause of death
in both these is the respiratory muscles failure. Another link is that in ALS,
mutation in FUS gene leading to loss of survival of motor neuron (SMN) protein
occurs which is also found in SMA. The
article also evaluates that a recently a new link is found according to
which the fibroblasts taken from live patient’s skin of ALS and SMA showed
mutated FUS gene and decreased SMN proteins level. Through focus on the
article, it is analyzed that author effectively managed the information of the SMN
proteins level and ALS and SMA (Chakradhar, 2012).
Injecting
tumors with gangrene-causing bacteria could help fight late-stage cancers,
study reveals
In the article by Matthews-King, there is the analysis of the cancer stages that after
the chemotherapy, radiotherapy and operative ways of cancer treatments,
scientists are now interested in the “bacterial therapy that kill the cancer
cells by injecting in those”. According to recent researches, this bacterium
can be used to It is analyzed in the article that Clostridum noyvi-NT is an
anaerobic bacteria growing in dead tissues. It will not harm the healthy cells
due to presence of oxygen in them. This article is interesting as it provide
the great information and these properties make this bacterium an excellent
anti-cancer treatment. This bacterium may be future of the anti-cancer
treatments and increase the survival of cancer patients (Matthews-King, 2018).
