It is with grave concern we are contacting you and bringing to your attention several deadly conditions that are threatening the lives of the university’s staff, students, and guest. These conditions exist with Hendricks Hall. We recently walked through and around Hendricks Hall and was horrified by its deadly nature. It is literally a fire trap of death in its current condition. 

            In a brief summary we must cover the major concerns to get attention to dangers at hand. We have limited amount of exits and no sound exit for the disabled. The disabled are expected to use an elevator. Using an elevator during a fire is taught against in every sound fire safety program and is common sense. The AC system runs on the floor and presents a tripping hazard besides just a great way to feed fresh air to open flames. The sprinkler system is limited to the stage area. The is no sprinklers in the seating areas and the one system in the stage area would quickly flood steps making a slip, trip, and fall hazard. There are paper emergency exits which has no dependability. And last major concern we have fire extinguishers are not being properly serviced.

Identifying known Fire safety Issues with Hendricks Hall

According to an Association “National Fire Protection” approximately 3340, fires in U.S in the properties of the offices in 2007-2011.In the morning , the first employee who unlock the office , as the last turn out a lights , for the fire safety in the Hendricks Hall , is the everyone responsibility. Fire Safety and Hazards is various depending on a Hendricks Hall. There are many communities able to identify, where there is no matter for locations due to could it, among the property of loss, and the life loss which should be occurred in incidents. (Fire & Life Safety America, 2015)

·         Poor available exits

·         Lack of fire suppression controls

·         Inadequate heating and cooling ventilation

·         Slip, trip, & falls hazards

·         No means of escape

·         Smoking Material

·         Flammable Liquids

·         Delay in calling the bridge

·         No Evacuations procedure

Through various employee that use the smoking materials. Many workplace like the Hendricks Hall have designated the area for the smoking, and also the no smoking signs. As we know that the cigarette is appropriately extinguished which is placed in the maintained receptacle method, to build the prevent lighting an igniting fire. Now for the inadequate heating and cooling ventilation, like the heat lamps; heat tape; and the boiler as well as the heaters which must be maintained properly and inspected , because the source of heat , creating the properly working which is never unattended for the critical to preventing the fires.

The no means of Escape ; if someone  are involve in the fire then used this methods ;but in the Hendricks Hall  there is no means of escape ; now in the means of escape some places are involved;

·         Traveler distances

·         Stairways

·         Doors

·         Emergency exist

·         Inner rooms

There are the following solution which is used to solve the known issues; as show given below

Fire Alarm and detection systems; as shown in below figure in the Hendricks Hall ( Revington, n.d.)

·         Containment of fire and finally address the suppressions of fire

In the fire extinguisher systems, the automatic fire suppression systems is involved.

Worst Case Scenario for Hendricks Hall Involving a Fire

For effective decision-making worst-case scenarios are the important part of the prediction as well as planning that is necessary. Thinking involves in the worst-case scenario identifying the possible event of worst cases as well as to prepare the implementing actions for those events. As we take the case that is happened in the Hendricks Hall while the hall is under construction. One of them is smoking while working unintentionally he drop the cigarette at that room after some time the room is full of fire all the material burn into fire as there is petrol the fire spread rapidly. The fire fighter reaches there with no time but they can’t overcome with this worst fire in the hall. This becomes the worst time for them but they handle this after some time. A lot of people stuck their but they are rescued them. After that the Hendricks Hall focuses on the problems and solution of the fire situation as well as also makes sure about the securities. After that they make precaution in the below section we give the solution and explain all the points.

Executive Summary of Identifying known Fire safety Issues with Hendricks Hall

            Problems facing Hendricks Hall vary from minor to major and could lead to great losses up to the ultimate cost of life these problems are as follows; poor available exits, lack of fire suppression controls, inadequate heating and cooling ventilation, and slip, trip, & falls hazards. To be up to peak operating levels the building would have to remodeled and which would be costly and into the millions however, there are already wishes to renovate this building according to the UCMO web site (see Source 4) and making these adjustments may not have a costly impact as expected. The additions that are in dire need are as follows; rid of the overhead balconies, the need of installed fire sprinklers throughout the entire hall, bring up to date all fire extinguishers, have all fire exits clearly marked in accordance to NFPA standards, have all entry, aisle ways, & exits handicap accessible, in the main seating area add exits on each side, remove the current ventilation system out of floor of Hendricks & install a more modern system that would not be in the ground, fix all housekeeping shortcomings, ensure all equipment is safe to use, and add illumination controls to all aisle ways, entrances and exits. These updates would be costly but, there is already wishes in effect to modify this hall and we could just piggy back off it and correct these needs. It would help further protect thousands of lives in the near future. We never hope a fire breaks out in Hendricks and that is with a heavy heart we must prepare protect our extended UCM family.
