On 15th May 1973 Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) was established as an organization of public service that aspire in protecting, representing, regulating industrial and commercial interests in dissimilar fields. The OCCI has its branches at a variety of governorates and headquartered in Muscat, it has its own self-governing juristic individuality. The OCCI is the private sector representative in international and local actions and in all interest decision for the keen and sector on raising the private sector by means of the available potentials and resources (John Pisapia & Coukos-Semmel, 2005). There are also about 4 departments: Administrative and financial affairs department- Customer service department-Public and relations department- department of Information technology. In this report there would be the discussion about the seven structures and systems, vMEME theory, Leadership Value Systems, competitors, organization’s continued growth, success and challenges and problems in the organization.

1. Having considered the theory, research and science, characteristics of organizations identify and assess:

a. Seven Structures and Systems

OCCI Company’s seven areas in the McKinsey model and vMEME theory are actually divided into ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ areas. Systems, structure, and strategy are the hard areas which are quite easy to manage and identify compared to the elements which are soft (Jurevicius, 2013).

Systems are basically the company’s activities and procedures which help in revealing decision making processes and daily activities of the business. In terms of a company, systems make up the area which play an important role in determining the processes of a business and it must be the focus of managers when there is a change in the organization.

The OCCI is also older player in the market as compare with the competitors. The OCCI  is the primarily the representative of the private sector in the industry while some of the competitors are working under the provisional and federal government of the Oman country (Wang, 2017).

The positive differentiation of the competitors of the company is that OCCI is more experienced in the market and compare with the local competitors. On the other side the international competitors of the company now have a lot of impact on the business of OCCI. The negative traits of the company is that the it is likely to suffer from political and business reforms in the industry more than the competitors who are working under governmental sector.  In the global level the OCCI Company is not said to be very competitive as compare with other international companies Rutherford Chamber of Commerce and Meadowlands Regional Chamber of Commerce (Generali.com, 2018).

These companies are also independent in their decision making that also makes them tough competitors of the OCCI (John Pisapia & Coukos-Semmel, 2005).

The positive point of the differentiation in case of OCCI is that the company is much independent in its decision making and also has control over the all of the operations and functions of the business. It also makes the company less affected by the political and governmental activities in the country.  The other local competitors of the company who are either public or semi governmental sectors have to follow all of the policies and regulations of the public sector in order to do their business Oman.

One negative thing about the organization as compare with the competitors in the local and international market is that some of the competitors like Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industy Rusayl prove to be hard competitor for the OCCI and competitors actions also likely to have a impact on the competitors environment and trends in the market. The organizational structure of the OCCI is also affected by the competitors in the local and international market that also have an impact on the business functions and operations of the company.
