Problem
Solving Tools & M&M’s
The
above process flow diagram suggest a hassle free opening of the bag. If the
individual are going to flow this process than the bag of M&M can be easily
opened without any inconvenience. Holding the bag accurately and opening the
bag from the right corner can resolve the difficulty that many face during
opening of the packaging. I recommend the above process flow diagram because it
would allow anyone to open the bag without much effort.

The
maximum number of M&M were in the bag 10 that are 68. The minimum number of
M&M in the bag were 52 which was in bag 5. The shape of the distribution
looks like a plateau. The Mars Corporation can get advantage by analyzing the
variation and can provide quality product to customers with the right quantity.
The mode of the given data is 7 which means it is the most common value (PANNEERSELVAM, 2012).
The
reason for the variation in candy count in each bag occurs due to several
factors. The bags were actually measured by weight instead of counting the
candies. The hot environment have huge impact on the chocolate therefore it
also become the reason for reduction in candies. The issue in the machine can
also cause variation in bags.]
The reasons of the
variation are ranked as follows: (1-Highest, 4-Lowest)

strong relationship with suppliers (PANNEERSELVAM, 2012).
