Good Morning
Dear Professor,
I hope you
are having a great time and doing well.
I am writing
this letter to inform you about a serious mistake that I have made regarding my
midterm exam, but I want to explain why it happened like this. I hope that you
will understand my explanation that I am going to give for my situation.
On March
30th, I woke up from my sleep around 4am, and picked up my laptop to use. While
going through my course material, I accidentally opened the midterm exam at 4am.
I have a
regular habit that whenever I have to catch up anything regarding my studies or
I have to prepare for my exams, I used to get up early in the morning to do so.
On the above mentioned date, I woke up and opened my laptop because I wanted to
prepare for my exam; therefore I tried to open The Practice Midterm Exam.
But I had no attention to open actual Midterm Exam. Three chances have been
provided to practice exam, and I had taken my two chances earlier so I thought
that I have one more chance to practice my exam. I wanted to practice my exam
because I wanted to put myself in a challenging situation, where I practice my
exam again, and explore my ability and knowledge to handle the actual exam.
The fact of
the matter is that I was not fully attentive because I just woke up from sleep,
so I could not pay full attention whether I am opening the right file or not. It
was the time, when I made the mistake to accidentlyopen the actual Midterm
Exam. I was not prepared for it, so I could not continue with it, and missed my
chance to complete the actual Midterm Exam. Now, I have no chance left to
attempt my actual Midterm Exam.
This is maybe
one of the stupid excuses you would have come across from your students, but reality
is that I did not want to make any lame excuses or tell a lie to justify my
mistake. So I thought that best thing is to tell the truth and explain my
situation to you that what actually happened. Certainly, it does not look logical
for anyone to wake up at 4am to give his/her actual Midterm Exam. It was a bad
mistake, which I made, but it was not intentional at all.
It is my 3rd
time that I am taking a course from you and in previous courses; I never took
your courses and exams lightly. That’s the reason that I have been able to
score 85+ in every exam that I gave for your course. But due to this mistake,
my score for this course is zero.
It is quite
clear that if I don’t get any chance to reattempt this Midterm Exam, I will
earn zero score, which is quite damaging for my overall course credits. I am here
to make a request that can you please give me a chance to reattempt this exam
so that I can at least earn more than 50+ marks. It is my last semester and my
parents are ready to attend my Graduation Ceremony on 30th May. Even,
they have purchased their flight tickets as well. If get zero in this course,
and do not get any chance to pass this course, then I may not earn the course
credit and as per school’s regulations, I have to retake the course.
Can you
please make this favor for me to retake my Midterm Exam, or is there any way to
get at least B grade for this course so that I don’t have to retake the whole
course. I clearly understand that I am asking for a favor, which is beyond the
rules and unacceptable at the same time. But my situation is now in front of
you, and I have no other choice other than making this odd request.
You can go
through my previous courses and see my performance for each course. It would be
great even you breakdown the performance of all other courses, and give me an
average grade on the basis of previous course scores.
Please
consider my situation and give aspace with 10% chance for me to boost up my grade upto B
grade at least.
I am willing
to write hundreds of papers or ready to retake the same exam 10 times if there is anything possible for
me to do so.Thank you in advance for your consideration
and I am extremely sorry to take your time for this unprecedented situation.
Looking for a
positive response…
Many Thanks&Regards:
Jaime
