Introduction of Codes and standards for loose mail detection in sleeves

Category: Computer Sciences Paper Type: Report Writing Reference: APA Words: 1500

The project is mainly invention pertains that detects the loose mails in the trays and working of the ATU machine at the workplace. The stream flow conveyer can be dropped in the moving conveyer to identify the fallen off mails and to recheck the areas where sleeves were recycled. The main objective of the work was to identify the mails that were received and then to put them back in the tray (Ncbi. nlm. nih. gov, 2011). The conceptual process examines the letter tray sleeve that can be retrieved and diverted. In the present work, the codes and standards associated with the whole project are identified and implication process for the codes and standards in the proper processing of mail stream is considered (Usbr. gov, 2009).

Relevant codes and standards of Codes and standards for loose mail detection in sleeves

The implementation of codes and standards can provide safety measures and incidents can be managed. The working conditions are considered or the employment and safety standards can be improved. The zero incident safety policy is considered in the present work to reduce the probability of incident (Ncbi. nlm. nih. gov, 2011). The responsibilities for the implementation of standards are recorded for internal management control and results in the better operations and improved quality (Ncbi. nlm. nih. gov, 2011). The team work is carried out to increase the management practices and to record the standards. The concerns are to promote the safe practices and to reduce the issues in the process of loose mail detection in sleeves. The fatalities are eliminated from the workplace and hazards associated with the employees are considered (Ncbi. nlm. nih. gov, 2011).

OSHA and EPA regulation of Codes and standards for loose mail detection in sleeves

According to the OSHA record saving requirements, the standards introduced for the workplace must abide by the variety of occupational regulations. The main concern of the regulations is safety and health considerations for the employees (Inc. com, 2018). The OSHA act is mainly associated with the record saving process. The main purpose of OSHA standards is enforcement regarding OSHA standards, job related hazard records, and OSHA records for the injuries, death, and illness (Osha. gov, 2018).

The code and standard considered in the present work are OSHA hazard emergency response (HAZWOPER 79 CFR) as listed below,

OSHA-2098 OSHA Inspections

OSHA-3077 Personal Protective Equipment

OSHA-3132 Process Safety Management

OSHA-2056 All About OSHA

National Electric Code and standards for loose mail detection in sleeves

The wiring of the equipment required a proper process that complies with the requirements of the National Electric Code. The codes and standards used for the electrical equipment are National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70, Cranes and Hoists, Article 610 codes (Ncbi. nlm. nih. gov, 2011). The code for the control voltage is that electric equipment installed in the process will work on less than 600 volts dc and ac system. The pendent control voltage for the electrical equipment should not exceed that 150 V ac or 300 V for the dc (Ncbi. nlm. nih. gov, 2011). Under the normal operation if devices are used then electrical equipment should not be located closure or enclosed.

National electric codes used for the maintenance of process are mentioned below,

NFPA 70 “National Electric Code”

NFPA 101, “Life Safety Code”

NFPA 13, “Standard for Installation of Sprinkler Systems”

FIST 4-1B, Maintenance Scheduling for Electrical Equipment

National fire of Codes and standards for loose mail detection in sleeves

The equipment should be protected from moisture, oil, grease, and dirt. The interior of trays used to place the mails should be clean. The fire protection hydroelectric plants are recommended to control the issues of fire (Ncbi. nlm. nih. gov, 2011).

NFPA 10, “Portable Fire Extinguishers”

NFPA 12, “Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems”

FIST 3-32, Transformer Fire Protection

FIST 5-2, Firefighting and Fire Prevention

NFPA 2001, “Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems”

ASTM and ASME standards of Codes and standards for loose mail detection in sleeves

ASTM and ASME are “American Society for Testing and Materials” and “American Society of Mechanical Engineers” respectively. The standard (ASTM) considered in the work is D7155-06 standard practice that is taken for the evaluation of the compatibility of machines. The standard (ASTM) for the cleaning process and bearing system is D 6439-99 (Inc. com, 2018).

How the team used the Codes and standards for loose mail detection in sleeves

The codes and standards for the operations were discussed in a meeting of seniors before implementation. The rules were applied for all the members for USPS design standards and incorporate with the concepts of sustainable practices (Ncbi. nlm. nih. gov, 2011). The environmental conscious facilities were provided to the customers and construction project were considered for the specific factors (Bechtel. colorado. edu, 2006). The USPS policies were certified and all the project team members were encouraged to identify new opportunities for the betterment of process and to introduce cost effective cycle that works for the sustainable conditions (Ncbi. nlm. nih. gov, 2011).

Specifications of components of Codes and standards for loose mail detection in sleeves

The fire protection system was installed in the workplace, the carbon dioxide extinguishing system was installed for the construction and repair of the project. The Halon contained chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), and the ozone depletion substances were used for the production and cleaning of air (Bechtel. colorado. edu, 2006). The sprinkler protection system was added under NFPA 75 in the fire walls to reduce the damage. The NFPA 13 system with the local code of occupancy was implemented in the workroom, support areas, lobbies, platform, and office sides (Ncbi. nlm. nih. gov, 2011).

The mail data is flammable therefore underground storage system was considered for the safety of assets in the construction and design plans. The requirements of the process included NFPA 30, EPA, and OSHA process requirement or development. NFPA 75 was designed for the electronic equipment and the computer systems added to the suppression system (Ncbi. nlm. nih. gov, 2011). The investigative system (IS) were used by video surveillance cameras to investigate the performance mission. The SF shall facilities 60,000 was developed under the USPS planning and the projected route contained video surveillance cameras, CCTV components, investigative office, and system of CCTV.

Process parameters of Codes and standards for loose mail detection in sleeves

The focus of the project was to derive a hazard free environment for the maximum accuracy in the system. The implementation of the ATU machine was quite a difficult work but the standard of working together as a team enabled to replace the machine setup. The overall safety measures for the system design are based on the standards and codes. The distance between the machines was measured with precision to avoid electric shock issues.

Safety and environment of Codes and standards for loose mail detection in sleeves

The environment was developed according to the safety issues and the general welfare was considered for the proper structural strength, facilities, stability, ventilation process, energy conversion, and other processes. The emergency responders were designed to operate according to the requirement. The fire prevention code and conservation code was applied for the design of the building. The installation and operation process in the system was considered for proper maintenance (Bechtel. colorado. edu, 2006)

Conclusion of Codes and standards for loose mail detection in sleeves

The main objective was to determine the methods for the identification of loose mails and then the recovery process. The codes and standard were designed to reduce the probability of hazards in the workplace. The conceptual process was conspired to determine the retrieval process of strayed mails. The ATU machine was specially designed to detect the loose mails.
