In this report there is discussion about the 3 smart phone
applications that are used for human factors. These applications used to
measure the light intensity, sound and also the temperature of the area or
body.
Light measurement Application
Application name is REX light meter. This application is
used to measure the shutter speed through setting the aperture. When you have a
DSLR camera but you are unable to set the shutter speed of your camera this
application will help you to set the shutter speed of your camera. This
application can be used by many camera men for different shoots according to
the requirement (Sillars, 2015).
Equipment
The equipment used for this application is android smart
phone.
Procedure section
In the first step you need to open the application and then
you have to set the LUX, ISO, and aperture and shutter speed. You need to set
the settings of application according to your camera. After setting all the
settings of the application and then you have to click on the measure. This
will give you the shutter speed for your camera you need to select (Manriquez
& McCluskey, 2014).
You need to set the setting according to your camera that
you are using.

For this application there is no need to comparing because
this application is only used for setting the shutter speed for the user easily
without setting the camera.
Discussion on Smartphone Measurement App
The major advantage of this application is that you can
easily set the shutter time of this application without setting the camera. The
disadvantage of this application is a minor one that is this application only
affects the battery of the smart phone (Ahram, 2018).
Ruler application
This application is used to measure the length of any object
and place. This application can able to convert the units of length and also
able to calculate the length of the straight line, area and also able to define
the thread pitch (Sillars, 2015).

In the first step you need to open this application. Then
you need to set the calibration for the ruler and then by setting the ruler you
can able to find the length of any object you wanted. You just have to put the
desired object on your screen and you can easily measure that object and then
you can also able to save the measurement history. This application is very
easy to use for the users (Sillars, 2015).
The android ruler and the manual ruler is the same. However
through the use of manual ruler the accuracy may be low because of human error.
But this smart phone application removes the human error easily. Through the
use of smart phone application of ruler the measurements can be more precise
and accurate.
Discussion
There are many advantage of using the measurement
application. Through the use of this application the user can able to measure
the length, area and pitch without using the ruler. The other advantage is that
this smart phone ruler able to measure the length more precisely than the
manual ruler. Through the use of this application you can also able to save the
records of your measurements. This application disadvantages are extremely
minimum. That include there are many application ads that pops up after 5
minutes. Another disadvantage of this application is that it affects the
battery of smart phone (Sillars, 2015).
Sound meter
This application is used to measure the sound at any place
you wanted to check.

This application is very easy to use for the users, only you
need to tab on the application icon and then after this you need to just place
the phone in the sound area and then this application easily measure the sound
in dB. By clicking on the setting you can able to calibrate the dB reading.

This application is better than the manual sound meter because
application able to measure more accurate sound meter. For calibration of the
sound meter reading you don’t need to set the value at regular interval. In
this application you just need to add the value and this can able to calibrate
the sound according to that value (Sillars, 2015).
Discussion
There are many advantages of using the sound meter
application. The first advantage is that you don’t need a manual sound meter
you just need this application to measure the sound intensity. The other
advantage is that you can easily able to calibrate your readings according to
your requirements. The best advantage is that this application is user friendly
you don’t need to learn tutorial. The disadvantage of using this application is
that this application only affects the battery of your smart phone (Ballou,
2012).
Conclusion of Smartphone Measurement App
Summing up all the discussion from this report it is
concluded that these smart phone applications are extremely valuable for daily
routine. The first application is use to measure the shutter time for the DSLR
camera by setting the aperture through the use of this application. The next
application is used to measure the length, area and pitch of the any object
easily. This application can able to measure the length value precisely than
the manual ruler. This application can able to save you data for regular use.
In the last part of this report there is discussion about the application that
can able to measure the sound intensity at any place you want. This application
has many advantages that are also discussed in detail (Sillars, 2015).
