Leadership refers to the actions of leading people or ability of the people to lead the subordinates and followers. In fact, leadership in the organizations refers to the authority over particular organization, business and government. In the organizations, a manager works as leaders to take decisions and to lead the workforce by developing policies, ensuring monitoring and leading system that influence the business and operations of the organization. Other than that, it is also the responsibility of the leaders to provide training, and directions to the employees.

There are a number of leadership styles commonly adopted in the organization all over the world. For instance laisserz-faire leadership style, autocratic leadership style, paternalistic leadership style, and democratic leadership style (Moses, 2018). Issues associated with these leadership styles vary from each other. Leadership styles develop the corporate culture and overall vision of the organization. Issues in the leadership cause to reduce the production efficiency and effectiveness of the organization (Moses, 2018). Lack of communication, inability to provide feedback, and ineffective leadership styles are the major current issues of the leadership.

In the present times, business organizations are really complex. The top level management of the organization has to communicate with the employees at each level of the organization. For instance, corporate level management has to develop a vision for the whole organization and persuade the employees of the organization to adopt that vision and work according to that vision (Moses, 2018). But because of lack of communication in the organization they cannot properly communicate with the employees that are one of the major current issues in leadership. 

In the current leadership lack of accountability is also an issue (Moses, 2018). Leaders are lacking accountability because of certain reasons that causes to big things done in the wrong way. Through the use of scorecards and other performance appraisal systems organization can ensure accountability but it requires focus and self-disciple for the leaders also therefore leaders are not supporting the accountability and appraisal systems (Papa, 2017).

More Issues in Leadership

Fear of firing is also an issue associated with the leadership in the organizations. Leaders even at the top level of management fear to fire a person who was working with them from long time. Research elaborate that leaders consider the old employees as close-knit family. Because of this attachment and previous dedication of these employees’ leaders usually avoid firing them even when their performance outcome goes towards decrease (Moses, 2018).

Lack of clear vision and lack of alignment are also issues for the leadership. Leaders sometimes have disagreements with the strategies and policies developed by the corporate management, and because of this they do not work and encourage their subordinates to align their work and activities with the corporate strategies of the organization as a result of this organization face issues related to the lack of alignment (Papa, 2017).

Conclusion of Current Issues in Leadership

It can be concluded that there are so many issues related to leadership like poor execution, default culture of the company, and lack of clear vision. Organization requires clear vision. Without clear vision leaders cannot ensure alignment all the work activities. Organizational leaders sometimes do not provide the required feedback to the employees that are essential to bring improvement in the performance of their subordinates (Moses, 2018). Therefore issues related to inability to provide feedback causes the leaders to draw negative impact on the business operations of the organization. Military and democratic are two quite opposite styles of leadership, organizations need to adopt the appropriate according to the requirement of their organizational operations. Wrong selection of leadership styles is it-self an issue.
