In order to analyze the work and skills for the health and
social care services there is the need to focus on the work and experience that
is gained through the Institute for Medical Quality (IMQ). I have done
fieldwork with IMQ and gained great experience of health and social care
services. Regarding the responsibilities and performance objectives it is
analyzed that I effectively focused on the quality, outcomes so that there
could be effectiveness and learning. I was given various responsibilities at the
IMQ as in the 21st century the sector stakeholders are interested to get the
great things, as the globe are looking
for efficient, innovative and cost-effective outcomes by the Medicare.
Thus, my institute gave me great learning and experience as my tasks were to
focus on the technology-enabled things for the “smart” health care. With the
use of ever-evolving policies there is focus to provide the quality facilities
to the people.
Moreover,
regarding the responsibilities and performance objectives processes, and
capabilities there were various responsibilities given to me, as I had to focus
on the appointments and procedures and also the best and effective treatment
plan for the customers and patients. Thus, have to effectively focus on the
involvement of the patients through sharing test results, in order to deliver
high-quality services I was working hard in the company and involved
cost-efficient methods so that health care providers can be given effect (Haroun,
2015).
1.2 Effectiveness against defined
objectives
I
effectively performed my duties at the IMQ as; I show my effectiveness against
defined objectives, through using the effective communication plans, blogging
or social media etc. My main goal and task was to manage the team, in this way,
I effectively managed the team because teamwork by assigning the tasks to the
people and by helping them through defining objectives to them. Moreover, I am
good at working with my people or team as I helped them through using the
problem solving skills and through effectively find solutions for them.
The tasks
assigned to me were related to innovative and cost-effective outcomes,
involvement of the patient’s appointments and procedures and also the best and
effective treatment plan for the customers and patient, however, in this way, I
effectively managed the difficulties or setbacks so that team member could
think creatively and so that there could be improvements in the tasks, it is
analyzed through planning and organizing that I can effectively perform the
tasks to manage the staff. I have leadership skills; I am able to develop
project timelines, as I helped the department, where I managed the stakeholders
through meeting deadlines.
1.3 Recommendations for improvement
There are
several issues that Medical Quality (IMQ) and other services department in the
same sector are facing, as there are issues related to the expensive services
of the Medicare because people cannot effectively pay for the services.
Self-management need to be concerned in this way so that there could be the
better experience, people need to give new responsibilities at work so that
they could effectively focus on the technical skills and so that there could be
an effective use of the skills relate to software. People are spending much on
healthcare, there is need to provide the quality of care at the health system
because there is biggest gaps.
However, IMQ is facing the problems in management as
the customers or patients are not effectively managed, in this way, there is
the need to expand the programs that are based on the quality concerns and new
technological revolution so that there could be affordable coverage for the
people or patients. The patients are facing the issues related to the
out-of-pocket costs and there, in this government of UK or US can make the
family plans so that there could be a solution of the chronic condition and so
that people could buy effective health insurance under the new system. In order
to cover gaps the effective management of the team and the support to the team
need to be given so that employee’s motivation can be enhanced.
1.4. Motivational techniques in
order to the improve quality of performance
Some
motivational techniques that can be used in order to improve quality of
performance are increasing of the motivation of the people, as there is the
need to help and improve performance of the employees and people. Motivational
techniques can raise morale of the employees and there could be focus on the
boost productivity so that there could be increase on employee motivation and
so that they could be more helpful to the people and team. It is analyzed that
through the recruitment of the new employees and through the involvement of the
people, who know about technology and advancement, there could be better focus
on the positive work environment and patients can be given help in better way.
Motivational techniques can help to encourage teamwork as there could be better
idea-sharing and there could be employee’s freedom.
There are issues relating to the
increase in the cost of medical or health and social care services. In this
way, the teams need to stay motivated or manager needs to be self-motivated so
that there could be increase or fulfillment of the goals and objectives. It is
known that goals are reasonable and can improve the performance of the
employees. However, there is need to motivate employees, through providing them
clear direction and through giving they trust that their ideas and creativity
techniques can help the company to grow. Moreover, in order to get the
effectiveness in employee achievements in the Medical Quality (IMQ) services,
effective policies can be made because in these way performance
objectives processes can be effectively focused and there could be better
involvement of the people or team (Gerdin, 2015).
LO 2 Develop interpersonal and
transferable skills
2.1 Solutions to work-based problems
There are
several solutions that could be focused in order to get the effectiveness in
the healthcare and social services system, as managing the team is the most
important task because when a team is managed effectively there could be the
focus on the innovation and progress aspects.
There could
be several issues at the workplace, as there could be issues related to the
management is concerned with the over stocking of medicine. Medical staff
purchases extra medicine form the suppliers for personal rewards and discount
offers. While sometimes new medicines were purchased because the staff
misunderstood that all medicines are sold. As a result of this overstocking
increase, the expense of the health care center (hospital) and even medicine
get expired after the specific date because getting sold. My solution for the
problem as the assistant of the medical management was to develop a record of
medicine inventory and record the number of medicine sold and purchased. For
this purpose excel and other documents, files can be used as tools to make the
records of inventory. (Taylor, 2016).
2.2 Communication of Employ-ability Skills
It is
analyzed that communication skills are really effective for the management,
however, it is known that if manager able to convey things to the employees in
the better way and if there are clear and effective goals, then employees or
other team members can effectively focus on the tasks. While communication is
also important for the employees other than the management of the organization.
Through the transferable skills, it is
known that communication skills can help and promote the organization as in the
case of Medical Quality (IMQ) services there can be the profitable job and
there could be the development of the effective skills in the workplace if the
communication or interpersonal skills are effectively concerned. However, for
the effective management, there is the need to develop interpersonal skills
considering the communication skills and other effective communication
strategies so that there could be the encouragement (Aldridge &
Wanless, 2012).
Considering the importance of the communication in the organization my
communication style was developed. Communication style with the top management
and subordinators was different because of the difference in downward and
upward communication requirements. I was obliged to provide the report to the
managers, therefore my communication style with them was respectful and my main
focus was on listening to what they said and reporting towards the completion
of tasks. While on the other hand while communicating with my subordinates down
to my level, I followed the authoritative and leading style but quite formal.
2.3 Time-management strategies of Employ ability Skills
The
strategies that are better for the improvement of the healthcare and social
care departments is very much important to be made according to the need of the
improvement. The improvement in this work is very much necessary as the health
and social factors are very much important that are focused nowadays by the
people and as well as by the departments, organizations and the other followers
as well.
Actually, in
the health care center, the biggest issue is poor management of time that
causes the problem for the clients. Nurses and other staff give favor to the
clients by taking something in return as monetary or non-monetary benefits.
Because of these patients with the poor condition that actually need immediate
attention of the doctors and medical staff suffers a lot. Therefore first time
management strategy was to reduce the waste of time in the over processing. For
this check up by the medical staff like nurses was enough to get information
about the further treatment and concerning doctors. Some patient that do not
have serious health issues can be only checked by the other supportive medical
staff. Patients of regular check should be given a specific time duration
through this time management for the emergency patients can be managed. Other
than this by setting goals towards daily tasks health care centers employees
can effectively manage time. (Aldridge
& Wanless, 2012).
LO 3 Impact of current lifestyle
choices
3.1 Role in a team in order to
achieve shared goals
The teams are made
of more than two people as it increases the working efficiency of the task very
much improved. When more than two people think differently then they will find
out more than one better option in regards of solving the issues. employees
play different roles in the team as leader’s roles, supportive role and
member’s role (follower’s role). They can work together when the team is based
on the similarities or mutual goals. For this organizations can give training
to the employees to work for the mutual goals achievement with harmony and
collaboration. When you make a team, you
must make some goals in order to achieve them the whole team started working on
the goal with a great level of efficiency and with a great level of good
performance as well. The team members’ work with unique efficiency and each
member will work according to the new and unique ideas in the best
implementation of these issues. The teamwork in health and social care improves
the efficiency of the department more quickly and more efficiently as well.
This makes the implementation of strategies more quickly and with best results
as well.
3.2 Analyze team dynamics of
Employability Skills
Major team
dynamics are cultural barriers, diversity, stereotyping, and difference in
interests, goals, and personality of the employees in a team. The qualities of
each of the people in a team are different and these are according to the need
of the work on which they are putting their efforts and as well as for which
they are making their efficiencies improved and organize them well. People behave in a different way because of
the difference in their personality and lifestyle also. Their moods and
emotional control also draw influence on their role in teams. The team working
in this regard is very much effective and very much positively affects the
working in the betterment of the health and social care department(Gerdin,
2015).
3.3 Suggestions to complete tasks
There are
some suggestions that to complete a task are:
Manage human resources
Manage time through scheduling
Set SMART goals
Develop interest through motivational rewards
You must first collect all the essential things that are needed
to be used by you in the working in this process. Develop harmony and interest
in the team member toward goals competition. Motivational factors as rewards
and benefit in form of bounce or high-performance rewards can help complete
tasks and achieve goals. The other important thing is that it saves your time
so you must collect all the stuff that needs to make that process complete and
efficient as well. The tasks that are assigned to each member must be according
to tyro its skills and abilities so that it may not become a burden over it. In
addition, by considering it a burden he or she does that task wrong that any
working premises cannot afford at all (Taylor, 2016).
LO 4 Strategies for problem solving
4.1. Evaluation of tools and methods
Tools and methods used for the solution are authentic that
can effectively deliver the desired outcomes for the solution. According to my
views solution of the first problem regarding time management is applicable as
it has the potential to control the effects of problems. Through establishing a
system of patients card number fair services delivery can be made possible in
the health care center. While the solution for the second problem related to an
increasing in expense because of overstocking can be considered effective
because outcomes and results of the solution can be measured. While according
to my views other software's and programs installed in the personal computer or
mobiles other than excels can be also used. Data records for medicine will help
in the management of medicine inventory but for this medical staff should
update the records while purchasing or selling medicine.
4.2 Appropriate strategies for
resolving problems
According
to this, my communication strategy can be evaluated. My communication strategy
was effective because of the positive effects of strategy on the environment of
the organization. As there were no conflicts raised that are the most frequent
and common outcomes of the poor communication skills. While the communication
style was full filing the requirements and did not raise the problems on the
job. In fact, problems were resolved with this communication strategy as
problems presented in the previous questions were resolved after the meeting
with managers, therefore, it can be considered as effective. (Chaita, 2016).
4.3. Evaluation of the potential
impacts
To sort out
the problem related to the time management issue I developed a strategy
according to the situation. My strategy was to develop a patient card system.
There should a nurse available all the time who will check patients first. Thus
only patients having critical condition will be sent first to the doctors and
patients that have the only minor issue (minor fever, a small fracture) will be
sent to other medical staff. Thus nurses and medical staff can support doctors
in checking patients and time could be saved. Because of this time, management
treatment rate will go high and hospital/ health care center will earn more.
