The aim of this paper is to provide deep insights regarding the effects of corruption on the economic & social development in the country of Oman. Corruption is considered as a major factor that has negative impact on the economic growth and social development in the country. The paper has discussed how corruptions affect the economy and become a major issue for the government officials. Corruptions lead to such activities which are not ethical and have negative impact on the performance of the businesses. The paper is divided into four main sections. The first section is the introductory section that provides a detail introduction regarding the corruption. Second sections discuss the effect of corruption on economic & social development in the country of Oman. Third section of the paper explains the challenges and opportunities that exist for reformers. The last section has concluded the paper and summarizes the key findings that have been analyzed in the paper (Dzhumashev, 2014).

Many business and organization are facing the high corrupting in the Oman which is creating the risk for the operations of the procurement and public sectors. Therefore the barriers do not exist for the business just because of the pretty corruption. In the Oman the practices of the bribery is no common because there is any strictness in the organizations of the Oman (Issan, 2016).

The struggles are continuing for controlling the corruption between the officials of the government and many other individuals which are leading towards the many high ranking prosecution and to preventing them from the corruption and crimes. This have becomes the abuse for the official environment from years.  To tackling the corruption the legal frameworks are arranging by the Law for the Protection, Omani Penal Code and Avoidance of Conflicts of Interest. These all laws are implemented effectively by the Government of the Oman. The Government of the Oman is taking several steps to controlling the corruption in the Oman. For the Oman to giving the gifts ton any authorized personality when you are dealing with your basic rights it must be considered as the major crime (Leff, 1964).

The corruption is an abuse for any nation and country even because it can destroy the structure of the governments it can create the misunderstanding between the author and professionals. In the common word the corruption can be defined as the abuse for performing the commanding duties for your private interest. The corruption can be classified in to various types such as politician, grand and pretty which depends upon the lasting amounts of money and various sectors where the corruption is occurs (Transparency Org, 2018). It is predicted by several reports the rate of the corruption in Oman is little bit low as compare to many other developed countries because the rules and regulation which are implemented in Oman are too strict just because of the Islamic civilization (Saha, 2013).

Effect of Corruption on Economic development in Oman

There are several countries with the emerging economies and these are suffering from the high level of the corruption by which overall economy development can be slower down. Just because of the inefficient allocation of the resources the overall society is affected by it. If the economic development of the Oman will down it can affected the quality of the health care and education of the Oman and when the quality of the education will be effecting it can create the negative impact on overall economy of the Oman. The economic development of the Oman which is affiliated with high level of corruption it included the misusing of the power by giving and taking money and it can be authority to achieving the desired goals and task by using the illegal ways. Unfair and dishonesty of the person are considered as the corruption within the organization and outside the organization (Oecd Org, 2015).

The corrupted economies can destroy the infrastructure of the country because no one function can be perform properly in the corrupted economy and the corruption can stops the natural laws of the economy to performing freely. The corruption for performing the political; operations of the nation of the Oman can become the cause of its overall society to suffering. The entire society of the Oman can be suffered just because of the corrupting Government Oman. The economic development and corruption in Oman has inverse relationship with each other because if the corruption will be high than the economic development of the Oman will be decrease and increasing the economic development of the Oman its necessary to reduce the corruption in Oman. It is predicted by the reports of the World Bank the income of the country is less than 3 times just because of the high and low level of the corruption. It means the country which is affiliated with high corruption its income would be lower than 3 times of the low level corruption (MIRZAYEV, 2018).

Effect of Corruption on Social Development

The rule of law and good governance is ending because of the corruption and providing the equality to the citizen of the Oman becoming the major issues before implementing the various laws to preventing from the corruption.  It is includes in the democracy foundation as well as violation for the human rights and laws. The corruption can destroy the social environment of the Oman because due to the corruption the poverty in the Oman is increasing and the loss of the trust can created by this when the civic spirits are undermines and it is creating the violation on the part of people according to their institution and leadership. The corruption can become the waste of the public’s resources and many other regulations are avoided by it and completion and rules can be distorted.   The social development is impossible when the corruption is existed in the Oman or any other country (Saha, 2013). 

As results it can be said the corruption can be the major obstacles for the social development of the country. The hinders of the social development and public finances can be undermines just because of the corruption. The domestic and foreign investment is also effecting by the corruption.  The social lives of the people of the country can be disturb just because of the corruption because the corruption is directly involved in destroying the social; development of the Oman. But luckily the rate of the corruption in the Oman society is too low just because of the Islamic civilization and Islamic culture of the Omani nations (Ktit Jalal, 2016).

Opportunities & Challenges for Reformers

 The sultanate of the Oman is taking as the subject who deserves the high attention to preventing their economy from the corruption on the Omani sultanate always be strong just because of the strict rules of the reformers. Although there are many issues occurring while preventing the corruption in the Oman many reformers are facing huge challenges for their work when they have started to struggling for their countries to enhancing the social and economic development of the Oman. There are the several reformers who have name on the top of the list of the reformers. Corruptions lead to such activities which are not ethical and have negative impact on the performance of the businesses (Shadabi, 2013).  

These all issues are requiring the reforms ideally. The lower cost of living, Ibdai disposition, measures against corruption and the job growth which is focused on the employment opportunities as compare to reform. Sultan bin Timor who have  riled in the sultanate of the Oman for long time period during the 1932-1970 he have saw many criticism for the living conditions in Oman. The development to taking stands stills. The polices of the Said was leading toward the conservatives, greedy, passive and it was using little wealth of the for the infrastructure of the proactively.

He did not care the Omani sultanate have the great oil wealth for the ruling it.  He did not take steps for the development of the public welfare and education sectors. In the 1970 there are several miles of the paved road in the Oman and there were 5% literacy rate in the sultanate of the Oman, but the infant mortality rate is above tan 75%. These all conditions are talking about the issues and challenges which are faced buy the many reformers of the Oman.  But all of the reformers have made good struggles to save their country from this abuse of the corruption and now das the Oman is included on the developed countries on the map of the world. Corruption effect on the economic development is also concluded in this research study. The corruption can destroy the social environment of the Oman because due to the corruption the poverty in the Oman is increasing and the loss of the trust can created by this when the civic spirits are undermines and it is creating the violation on the part of people according to their institution and leadership.
