Pablo
Picasso is famous for his abstract art. His paintings project abstract idea are
considered as the highly appreciable paintings of that time. A fine example of
his innovative style and projection of abreaction is known as Les Demoiselles
d’ Avignon. During the 20th century Les Demoiselles d’ Avignon earned the
reputation as the most important paintings that would turn the future painting
styles. Even in the present age historians are admirers of his paintings
because of certain reasons. Historians claim that Picasso projected new ideas
in these paintings and talked about the reality and facts of this man’s world
in such a way that was never used by anyone else (Ferreira, 2018).
Moreover, his
paintings had elements to speak about metaphysics, classical myths, symbolism,
and ethnology that made him different from other artists of his time. In the 20th
century, abstract artists were used to painting objects and common things from
the environment. Somehow, Picasso presented culture and social norms in his
paintings that made him unique and different among them. The master piece
painting Les Demoiselles d’ Avignon is also a great projection of innovative
use of pictorial space and abstraction. Picasso used pictorial syntax that
enables the viewers to see their environment and perceive things and incidence
with a different and new mind full of awareness (Khanacademy.org, 2019). Pictorial spaces
represent the digital realm and flat digitals reside in cyberspaces. Picasso
discovered discontinuity demands that were meeting at the multiple levels and abbreviations
to slash connecting web spaces. The subject matter is the projections of
primitive ideas. Picasso was not a supporter of feminism. His targeted viewers
are males as he projected their perceptions and interests in Les Demoiselles d’
Avignon. Changes such as adding pictorial space, metaphysics, and classical
myths will affect the experience of the viewers as it will help them think
about the abstract and paintings in a new way with new minds.
Q no 2)
All artists are affected by what came before, so which of
these two movements do you think has influenced Postmodern artists more.
Support you answer.
The two
important American Art movements of the 20th century are known as Pop Art and
Abstract expressionism. Comparing these we can say that both are quite
different as Pop Art is concerned with what we can consider a projection or
graphical presentations of our cultures and surroundings. While Abstract
Expressionism is about the purest form of void meanings, authentic meanings,
and expressive images. Somehow, we can also identify similarities in both
movements. The major similarity is that both are based on analogous catharsis
by providing a challenge to artistic norms and fascinating dialogue creation. The
idea behind Abstract expressionism was to encourage people to understand untold
truths about society painted by artists using metaphors. Pop Art main idea is
to advertise objects, and mundane objects having cultural representations.
Basically, Pop art was started as fine art to image and paint mass culture and
particularly add humor in paintings. Here Comic books are the fine examples (Andymorrisart.com, 2019). The core principles
of Abstract expressionism are quite different from the principles of Pop Art.
Principles and elements of Abstract expressionism cover important points such
as repetition, color dominance, value scales, and colory theory. While Pop Art
principles are concerned with actual projection rather than symbolism. Pop Art principles
and elements relate to wit, realism, and irony. Andy Warhol was the famous artist
of Pop art his paintings are the fine presentation of Pop art concept of
advertising as he created images are an advertisement for Coca Cola Company (Weinerelementary.org, 2019). (See the presented
below images). Jackson Pollock was the Artist of Abstract expressionism
movement. Jackson Pollock portrait myth, and cultural visionaries. He captured
smudges signal, and fragmented lines to present mundane and cultural
representations (See the presented below images). Postmodern art was affected
and influenced by Pop art as it was already a modern form of painting that was
to paint objectives near the reality (davidcharlesfox.com, 2016).
