Team 1 presented an important topic of this course. The presentation was to analyze a
given case study to find out the appropriate solution or recommend a cloud
service for Fin tech Company. Their
topic was “Choosing a cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure”. The presentation was
started by Dustin Haley, who introduced the case scenario by presenting the
whole case in a summarized way. Dustin covered all important points and also
used an eye-catching image of the website to drag audience attention towards
his presentation. After presenting the case summary they presented cost,
benefits, requirements, and use a case in detail. In addition, they presented
three key options or alternative cloud service providers with differences in
these services. The thing I like in this presentation was the allocation of
time to each point in the discussion. The team divided time for each slide very
well as they demonstrated an important point in details and least important
points were given limited attention.
Moreover,
other than time management another point that makes this presentation well is
focused on alternative options. Rather than discussing other irrelevant
information they presented actually desired information in this presentation.
The evaluated available alternative options in different scenarios or features as
system administration efficiency, cost requirements, security system,
programmability, scalability, database, services level agreement, resources
availability, training, and customer support differences to get the best option
for Fintech Company. Presentation content shows the efforts done by the team
members on this project. In my views, it
was detailed research that enabled them to present such an amazing presentation
in a professional and expert style. While
on the other hand, evaluating this presentation I found a number of things
confusing and inappropriate. At first, they added too much content in the
slides that were making their slides look complex. Mostly slides were
overloaded with content that made the slides look less attractive. In my views,
they could make it better by only adding key points in the slides but
discussing these points in detail while presenting in front of the audience. Somehow, excluding graphical presentation
overall presentation was well in my views.
In the ending, the recommendation was presented for Fintech
Company that I evaluated as a representative of the focal organization.
According to the team members, Fintech should go forward with amazon web
services. The team member also presented reasons for this recommendation as
according to the Amazon web services can provide flexible and affordable
services. Most storage and a global network of certified premier consulting
partners are also a key reason behind this selection. However, while presenting
the recommendation team ignored the importance of the security system,
programmability, and scalability. Evaluating this recommendation I would say
that the selection of Amazon web services is a wise decision but security-related
concerns make this recommendation unacceptable. In accordance with my knowledge
about Web amazon services, data dumps in AWS can support data breaches or information
accessibility for the third party[1].
White-hat hackers hack cases are evidence of poor security system offered by
the AWS (amazon web services) (Mueller, 2019).
Presentation on Evaluation Team 2
“Fin tech:
choosing a cloud service provider” is the presentation topic of team 3
(including members Rnadal, BriAuna, and Mohammed Altawyan). Team 2 give a good
start to their presentation. From the way of communication or presentation to
the way of writing content in the slides, everything was looking appreciable. Team
member presented detailed information about the case summary at the beginning
of the presentation that was a good step to grab attention and develop an
interest in the presentation. Further, the thing I like the most was the
presentation of options evaluation with the use of a graph. One of these team
members presented different available alternatives adopted by public
enterprises in 2018 and 2017. In my views, it was an appropriate way to present
such important detail about cloud adoption as because of this graph anyone can
easily understand which could system is highly supported by the organizations. Moreover,
graphics use made their presentation look professional. Somehow, I also found
some areas of improvement in their presentations.
According to my views, they didn’t provide enough detail
about the key qualities and features of available alternative options. The
presenter could discuss these options in more detail to help the audience get a
better understanding of the specifications of these alternative options. Moreover,
they could present the pros and cons of each available alternatives in their
presentations. However, other than all these overall presentations went well.
Coming to the recommendation section I would say that they made a
recommendation in accordance with the given case scenario. According to their
analysis Amazon web services are best cloud services for Fintech. They made
recommendations by considering three main points; low cost, training, and
support system.
Evaluating their recommendation I would say that they ignore
an important point while making a recommendation. Data security is more
important as compared to low cost advantages and full support services. Fintech
cannot implement a plan that can bring data security risk. Team suggestions and
analysis are well but they forget this important point that makes their
recommendation unacceptable for me. In accordance with the given case scenario,
Fintech Company was also already facing challenges and immense risk in
transferring the transactional processing system of their business to the
cloud. Data breaches and theft chances are quite unacceptable. Such issues can
turn the fortune of Fintech Company in their market that is not quite
desirable. Cloud system will deal with customer data and personal information
that the company cannot lose at any cost. The company was looking for an
opportunity to strengthen its position with customers. Considering this they
cannot take risk of data security-related issues. In my views, the best
services for Fintech is that comes with a strong security system. Amazon web
services have their own data security system but that system has some drawbacks
and limitations that reduce its competitiveness[2].
Presentation Evaluation Team 3
Team 3 consisted of 3 team members presented a case study on “Fin tech- Choosing a
cloud services provider". The team discussed this topic in quite an
appropriate manner. It was a well management presentation as they gave enough
detail to each important point in the presentation. How they summarized the
case study overview is appreciable. One of their team members presented the
background of the case at the beginning of the presentation that was a good
step to make all audience familiar with the case in advance. Moreover, they
presented details about fin tech’s goals as to how they want to strengthen
Fin tech’s relationship with their customers and how Fin tech would like services
that bring ease for their targeted customers. Somehow, according to my
evaluation team was unable to present goals in a professional style.
In my opinion, goals could be presented better by making
them look professional. For instance, starting goal with the action verb (e.g.
Demonstrate, Ensure, Solve, Bring, etc. ) could be a good choice. Moreover, in
another slide, they presented a cost analysis that was looking a little
confusing. In my views they could add tables to present cost related
information or a detailed oral discussion about cost could make their work
amazing. Excluding this all other slide's content and way of presentation were
good. However, the team also presented some recommendations at the end of their
presentations.
According to their recommendations, Microsoft Azure can be a
suitable option in comparison to other available alternatives. In accordance
with my judgment, their recommendation is appropriate for this case. Microsoft
Azure come up with several features and additional benefits that can take
performance at the advanced level. Moreover, Microsoft Azure is cost-effective
and easy to implement. In this case, the main focus was on data breaches,
exploited system vulnerabilities, and malicious insiders while adopting the
cloud computing system in the Fintech.
Considering these requirements of Fintech we can say that
Microsoft Azure is best for them as Microsoft Azure has all that functions and features
that can help Fintech avoid security-related issues. Microsoft Azure also
provides 24/7 support so in case of any problem Fintech would be able to
contact them and fix their problem. There were also other options available to
them (for instance, Amazon web services and Google Cloud Platform) but
comparatively Microsoft Azure is the best option that meets all conditions and
requirements of Fintech. Although Microsoft Azure is really expensive its
strength of outperforming can make it cost-efficient for Fintech as using this
company can avoid the extra cost of security.
Cheap programs usually
come up with limitations and weaknesses in performance. Therefore, just looking
for a cheap option cannot be a logical decision. Here I support the
recommendation of this team as in their recommendation preferences is given to
the quality of performance, goals accomplishment, and requirements of Fintech
rather than only focusing on cost benefits. Briefly speaking, I accept that
recommendations as a representative of the focal organization.
