The
research study discusses crtical analysis of workplace environment, change management aemployees’
commitment–in profit and non-profit institutions, nowadays, due to the
rapid growth of the business organization the chances of employment are also
increasing for employees. The employees want to switch to better places where
they can find an effective workplace environment, change management. The management strategies are the major key
to enhance the satisfaction level of the employee and the commitment of the
employees. This study is conducted on the profit and nonprofit organizations of
Oman.
These
organizations visit in order to measure the environment of the organization and
the commitment of its employees. if, the change management of the nonprofit
organization will be measured that it can be said that, The process of change
management is not an easy one, but still it can be managed if the proper pattern
is followed. The leaders in the organizations have to take adequate measures to
ensure that they are able to convince employees to embrace change by
participating in the change management process so that the workplace
environment can be improved. But it is a difficult task to bring employees to a
point, where they support the change management process in the organization,
and there are multiple factors behind their resistance to change.
It
has been observed in the study that the commitment of the employees is analyzed
in effective manners of the manufacturing organization of Oman. Even the
commitment level of the employees of the nonprofit organization is also
measured. The well known author Brzezinski, Stanislaw; Bak, Agnieszka, 2015 has
mentioned in their studies that If organizations are not providing enough
reasons for employees to remain satisfied and committed, then they may not show
a full commitment to organizational change, because they don’t see anything
beneficial for them (Brzeziski and Bak 2015). It has been
discussed in this study that the employee's commitment can be enhanced by
applying several strategies to motivate their employees for their loyalty.
Parish et al., (2008) has been stated in his
study that the employees in an organization, who will be affected by change
more than anyone else, and if they are not welcoming it, then change process
will never produce good results, rather it will create new issues for the
organization. So, it is critical for organizations to build the commitment of
employees o they embrace change with open arms and work in collaboration with
their leaders to implement change with full effect. Their engagement in the
change process will benefit both employees and organizations in so many ways (Parish, Cadwallader and Busch 2008).
The
first chapter of the research study explores the aims and objectives that are
attained in the remaining parts of this study, particularly in chapter four
data and analysis parts. The major research objectives that are attained in
these studies these are;
· Critically
assess and research how a change in the Workplace Environment affects employee
satisfaction and commitment.
· Evaluate
the effect of the change in the Workplace Environment in the Governorate
(non-profit) and Private (profit) Sector Organizations.
· Assessing
the process of change management in non-profit and profit organization to
differentiate the different response made by both kind of organizations
This chapter of the research study explores the
ideas about the rationale and justifications of this study, along with its contributions.
It also provides views of how this study will be beneficial for academic
knowledge and policymakers.
It also explores the concepts this is applicable for
the policymakers in order to make the new and innovative policies for their
employees. The research questions are also developing in this section of the
research study. Such as the one these
questions are how does change in the Workplace Environment affects employee
satisfaction and commitment? This question is answered in the literature review
of the study along with statics illustration in chapter 4. In the literature
review, it has been answered in such manners as; in any given
competitive business environment, change is critical for business organizations
for their growth and competitiveness.
The
competitors do bring so many changes at regular intervals to stay ahead in the
competition, and if other organizations do not do the same, they will struggle
to stay competitive. So, holding a competitive advantage is important to keep
things on the right track. The role of leaders is crucial in the change
process, as they can influence and inspire their subordinates.
Another
question is referred to as; What are the major process of change management in
non-profit and profit organizations to differentiate the different responses
made by both kinds of organizations? This question is answered in this study in
such manners as; There have been so many organizational change models, and one
of them was introduced by Kurt Lewin. There are three stages of this model
presented by Lewin.
The
third research question in this study is; what is the major effect of the
change in the Workplace Environment in the Governorate (non-profit) and Private
(profit) Sector Organizations? The best answerers of this research question can
be explained in this way;The research has also suggested that the transactional
leadership style can also be effective in bringing change in workplaces. John
Kotter introduced a change model in the year 1996 after conducting research on
around 100 organizations. He presented 8 steps in his model.
The
first step was increased urgency, the second step was to build a guiding team,
and the third step was developing the vision. After completing these steps, the
fourth and fifth steps are communicating for buy-in and empower action. The
sixth step is important, which is to create short term wins by implementing
change. The last two steps are crucial as a seventh step asks to don’t let up,
and the last step asks to make change stick so that better outcomes can be
achieved.
This
study is conducted by using both types of research methods quantitative and
qualitative. The qualitative research methods lead to the literature review of
the study. Under this method, all of these constructs and research questions
are analyzed theoretically by using the findings of other researchers and
exploring their concepts on this particular topic.
The
sampling is the professionals of the five profit organizations and five
nonprofit organizations. The data is collected from the professionals of the
Omani organization by using the self-administrated questionnaire. Than this questionnaire is analyzed by using
the SPSS software which is the best of all tools for analyzing the data and
generating the tables’ charts and graphs.
This is an accurate tool because it reduces the chances of data
manipulation. This is the good software that can be used to measure the effects
of independent variables on dependent variables.
Conclusion
of
Critical Analysis of Workplace Environment, Change Management, And Employees'
Commitment–In Profit And Non-Profit Institutions
The
cruxof the entire discussions and the study is that the importance and
applications of the conclusions and results are interpreted in order to focus
on the impact of management change on the employee commitment of the profit andnonprofit
organization of Oman. It is essential to point out that in the organization the
initiatives of the management change can be affected in both manners as negatively
and positively.Sometimes the managementchanges havea positive impact on the
employee commitment of the Omani organization. Therefore this study will
contribute to the policymakers in order to take several initiatives related to
the management change in the nonprofit organization. Each change in the
nonprofit organizations of Oman is the lever for better results in organizational
commitment.
It
has been concluded that the environment of the workplace plays an essential
role inencouraging and motivating the employees in order to perform their
assigned jobs in effective manners. The environment of the workplace motivates
the employs to stay here in order to perform their skills. Hence, the money is
not considered as the sufficient means of the motivator in order to encourage
the performance of the workplace which is required for the competitive business
environment of today. It has been revealed in this study that the performance
of the employees can be enhanced due to the better environment of the organization
that canbe the biggest cause in order to enhance their commitment level with
their organizations.
It
has been observedduring the research by the personal visits in the nonprofit
organization of Oman that the productivity of the employees is lacking due to
the uncomfortedenvironment of those organizations. Because most of the
employees of these organizations are females and they are not spending their
professional life in effective manners. They need an effective and friendly
environment that will be motivating the employees to perform their jobs and
work in comfortable environments.
The
determinants of the employees’ commitment to profit and nonprofit organizations
of Oman are also examined in this study. These factors are examined by
reviewing the environment factors of thesesorganizations. This study provides
extensive knowledge aboutthe effect of the independe3nt variables on dependent
variables. The multifaceted results of several studies are explained and discussed
in this study in good ways. These concepts explore the relationships of these
al variables. It also presentsthat the workplace environment of the organization
is affected by employee commitment in positive ways. It shows if the effective environments
of the workplace will be provided to the employees than the level of the
commitment of the employees will enhance in good ways.
It
is concluded in this study that the feedback of the effective performance of
the crucial employees for the growth of the organization and employee
efficiency. In fact, the feedback of the performance is relyingon the
generation of the particular information which is mostly related to solving the
pertained practical problems of the organizations. These important information’s
entireis considered as the particular issue which can be the cause of the
actual deviation from the original targetedgoals. All of this informationis
considered as the obvious issue which can be the cause of the actual deviation
from the targeted goal that can be easilyattained.
The
variables and facts are establishedin this in order to determine the particular
significance of the productivity of the employees. In addition, the factors of
the workplace environments are essential which can be subsequently activated
and control the activities of the employees according to their skills and
capabilities. It has been measured in this study that there is a positive significant
relationship among the workplace environment, management change, and
organizational commitment. The linear regression analysis represents that due
to the 1 percent change workplace environment and management change the
employee commitmentcan be changed by 47 %. This analysis also shows that there
is a positive significant relationshipbetweendependent andindependent
variables. It means the null hypothesis is rejected and an alternative
hypothesis is accepted.
Recommendations of Critical Analysis of Workplace
Environment, Change Management, And Employees' Commitment–In Profit And
Non-Profit Institutions
It
has been recommended that the managers must be recognized by their employees
and their needs as well. They must perceive the pressure or reason for adopting
change in various change levers in particular perspectives. The mangers must take
steps for the particular change activities in order to reduce the resistance of
the change. If the changes are managedbythe mangersaffectively; than it can be
the cause of high organizational commitment of employees.
According
to the findings and results of this study, the managers must be arranged the
periodic meetings along with their employees in order to hear their complaints
and arguments for their management for serving as their motivating factors for
their employees. There must be particular activates in which the managers must
be counsel for their relationships along with their subordinates. The
organization must have to adopt good programs in order to accommodate their
employees for the life balance of the work. It is alsoreferred to as the great
factors for retaining and motivating the employees for their organization.
In
order to build an effective work environment, the Management must be struggled
and tried tocreate that environment that can motivate, attract and retain its
employees and enhance the productivity of the employees. The mangers and
employers must be providing their employees physically comfort zone and
facilities, it means the employers must provide the flexible and adjustable furniture’s
for their employees for enhancing their comfort zone and encouraging them for
their work. In the long run, this strategy will be keeping their employees happier
and healthy.
The
employers must have in place good working conditions for their employees for
enhancing their moral values and it can easily be made them more efficient. There
must be particularexamples of the benefits that are providing to the employees
by their organizations. The means and ways must be search out by the manager of
the organization for communication their strategies and goals to the employees to
attaining the target goals of the organizations along with its mission and
vision.
The
organization must be incorporated approaches for feedback in its system. This
will allows the organization to utilize the information that can be used for
analyzing and solving the problems of the future. Mangers must solvethe issues
timely that are related to the workplace specifically, in the area of the low
productivity and inefficiency of employees. Feedback is considered as the best
tool for the management that can be revealed for the commitment level of the
employees and fulfill their responsibilities. This recommendation is used to
encourage the visionary and potentials of employees for applying the more
effort which can facilitate them in order adding the values of the companies.
These
are also considered as the peradventure which allows the organization for playing
its basics goals for the development of the economy. Additionally, the level of
employee commitment can be enhanced by the incentives and the mangers must
adopt the incentive stragglesto accommodated and encourage their employees. So,
in order to offer them incentives to the employees, the management must be
inconsistent and it must be according to the merit grounds. The compensation
nature must also commensurate with the process that had been delivered to the
employees effectively.
The
factors of the workplace environment are considered as the antidotes which can
be the cause of the unionization of employees within their environment. In this
manner, all of these recommendations must be followed by the profit and
nonprofit organization of Oman.
Future
Implication of Critical Analysis of Workplace
Environment, Change Management, And Employees' Commitment–In Profit And
Non-Profit Institutions
There
are several implications for the future that are explored in this study. This
study is conducted to exploring the only impact of the workplace environment
and change management on employee commitment atthe profit and nonprofitorganizations
of Oman. Therefore, there are several sectors particularly the manufacturing
companies are the best option for other researchers to conduct the research on
this particular topic. This research is conducted only in Oman but it can be
conductedin other countries around the globe. They must have to explore the incentivesalong
with its advantages in order to enhance the commitment level of their
employees. The organizations are reaping for improving the environment of the
organizations.
Due
to the lack of resources and time this study is limited for the organizations
of Oman. It would be important for the further researcher to conduct the
research study in another country for this topic. The concepts of the relationshipbetween
the workplace environment and employee commitment must be explored on the brooder
level. This study can be repeated in another context such as it can beconductedonlyin
public sectors, manufacturing sectors in any other country. There are several
researchers have presented their views on this particular topic but in a different
context. For instance, this conducted in various countries but not on Oman, it
is conducted on various organizations but not on a nonprofit organization.
