The business organizations strive for short term as well as long term success, and this can only be achieved if they are on the right track with appropriate resources. The human resource is considered to be the most critical aspect of a business because whatever strategy and objectives have been defined, they cannot be achieved without the help of human resource as they are the ones to execute every strategy and plan. A business organization may have various great elements like state of the art equipment, machinery, as well as infrastructure. They may also have a great business idea with some thoughtful plan to move forward, but all of this can be in vain if they don’t get any skilled, experienced, as well as determined workforce. The current business arena is offering so many opportunities to business organizations, but these new business dynamics are also coming with lots of challenges posed by the intense competition. So, to get a competitive advantage, every business organization has to look for people, who are ready to take ownership of their business and show their determination & dedication to achieve collected goals (Nasibov, 2015)

It is important for organizations to know how they can motivate their workforce to show 100% commitment, determination and dedication to perform their due responsibilities, and take part in the collective success of their organization. If an organization has an enthusiastic workforce, which shows passion and determination to do well, then the long term is something not far away from such organizations. It happens because a motivated workforce is ready to take ownership and they feel pain for their organization. The employees having motivation are ready to take any challenges and go the extra mile for their organization. On the other hand, if employees are discouraged as well as de-motivated due to any reason, and they don’t feel valued by their organization, then the performance of such employees will always be a question mark. If employees lack motivation and satisfaction, then they may not go out of their skin to serve their organization. That’s why it is crucial for an organization to create a workplace environment which keeps the motivation of employee alive, and encourage them to do well in the best possible manner (Bianca, 2019)

It is evident that workforce and its motivation is imperative for the overall success of an organization, but still, organizations don’t understand the importance of this fact, and they lack in strategy to keep their employee motivated. The employees will always be a crucial part of an organization as they have to perform relevant duties and tasks to keep things in the right direction. As we know employees are the most important part for an organization without employees an organization is nothing as they are reason of manufacturing of products and services on a large scale from large number of employees. Each and every employ is very necessary for an organization and play a vital role in an organization or cooperation so a concept regards to the motivation it is very necessary to motivate the employees because due to regular struggle and hard work they lose hope and passion regards to their work and some crucial circumstances make them hopeless that’s why motivation is very good way to came back them to the work with the same energy they were enter in an industry or corporation and organization.        This study is focusing on employees’ motivation and its impact on organizational efficiency and performance. The study will try to figure out how organizations can use motivation as a tool to motivate their employees to work hard with full commitment and honesty. The study will try to work on two major aspects; the first purpose of the study will be to identify that which factors are crucial to keeping employees motivated, and the second purpose is to determine how these factors play their part in improving organizational efficiency and performance.

Aims and Objectives of the Study of Impact of Employee Motivation on Organizational Efficiency

This study is trying to explore two aspects related to the motivation of employees and organizational efficiency. First thing is to identify considerable factors, which are related to the motivation of employees. It means how employees are motivated and encouraged to work hard so that they may not only achieve their personal goals, but they also achieve collective organizational goals. Once the important factors of employees’ motivation will be identified, then the next step of this study will be to evaluate how these factors can play their part in organizational efficiency. The review of literature will be done to see how things have been proved in previous research studies and what else can be done to keep driving motivation of employees. The research will also focus on areas, which have been related to the de-motivation of employees like what things in a work environment play their part in keeping employees unhappy and unsatisfied because satisfaction and motivation of employees are correlated. So, the aim of the overall research is quite clear; identifying multiple factors playing their part in the motivation of employees, and how those factors then play their role in organizational efficiency and performance.

Research will have to analyze each and every aspect related to the motivation of employees and organizational efficiency. Things can go in any direction in this research, because the topic area is so broad, like employee motivation may be different for different sectors, and different regions of the world may show the importance for a variety of factors with regards to the motivation of employees. There are certain objectives of this research study, which are given below:

·         To establish the fact that employees’ motivation is important for organizations

·         To identify what factors of employees’ motivation are critical to keeping them motivated

·         To assess how these factors play their part in improving organizational efficiency

·         To determine which factors are important to keep employees de-motivated and unsatisfied with their job

All of these aims and objectives are related to each other so that viable results can be achieved from the overall analysis. Further part of this research will be based on these aims and objectives. It is important to mention here that current research is imperative for modern business organizations, because the competition is getting intense with each passing day, so they have to realize which factors can give them competitive advantages. The workforce of an organization is always a crucial asset to determine its success and failures. For instance, if employees are motivated and committed, they take ownership of things like they work extra hours even when it is not asked by their management, or they don’t leave the office until any issue is not resolved. Moreover, if they see any issue or flaw in any process, they take ownership by removing that flaw in the first place, and if it is out of their capacity, then they talk to higher management to get things fixed as soon as possible. On the other hand, if employees lack motivation and commitment, they never take ownership of anything, and they never step out of their due role to show their determination and commitment. So, this research is important for the business organizations to understand the criticality of employees’ motivation for their overall performance and efficiency.

Critical Review of Literature of Impact of Employee Motivation on Organizational Efficiency

Factors effecting Motivation of Employees

It is a fact that a lot of research has been conducted to figure out factors, which are related to the motivation of employees. Various researchers have tried to identify these factors in different contexts, and they call came with some primary factors, which always proved a handful in keeping employees motivated. A study was conducted in 2018 to examine factors related to the motivation of employees, but these factors were investigated in the field of higher education. It is important to mention here this particular study was conducted in the Malaysian context so survey data was collected from 242 individuals working in administrative and academic roles in the higher education sector of Malaysia. It is vital to mention that different studies have worked to determine different factors, but this particular research was aiming to examine three already selected factors; employee training, employee empowerment as well as teamwork. After collecting data, a detailed analysis was made to get relevant results. So, the results of the study showed that employee motivation was positively related to employee empowerment. It means that higher education organizations, which empowered their employees in a different manner, they were successful in keeping their employees motivated. The research also found that teamwork, as well as employee training, was also positively related to the motivation of employees (Hanaysha & Hussain, 2018)

It is a fact that an organization may face various challenges coming from the internal and external environments, and those challenges cannot be dealt with without the help of employees. For instance, if any issue has been identified, and an organization is facing the danger of bad reputation if things are not fixed, then employees role will be crucial here as they can rectify the issue to get things back on track, and they will only do it with full commitment, when they will be motivated. It is a well-established fact that when employees are motivated, they tend to be more productive, efficient in helping their respective organizations in achieving organizational goals and objectives. However, it has been observed that organizations have not been able to use motivation and its relevant theories in a proper manner, which may have given them so many advantages over their competitors. It is imperative for management to understand what factors are driving force to drive the motivation of employees, and then they must work on those driving forces to get things done in an efficient manner (Sihag, 2016)

It has been mentioned earlier that factors affecting the motivation of employees can differ in different regions because work cultures can be different in various parts of the world. So, this study is trying to identify factors from a variety of regions to get an overall perspective in global terms so that organizations from all over the world can take lead from findings of this research study. A research study was conducted in the context of Kenya to identify factors relevant to the motivation of employees. The findings of this particular study revealed that employees working at Kenya Bankers Sacco Society (KBSS) given extensive value to the concept of motivation. The employees said that motivation is key for them to work hard, and one of the factors to keep them motivated in the workplace environment providing good enough rewards. The employees shared their view that a good salary along with compensation and rewards is positively related to their motivation. So, if they are getting good enough salary with considerable rewards, then they feel motivated and work with commitment and determination for their organization. They also revealed that recognition is also crucial for their motivation because when their efforts and hard work are rewards with some recognition, it motivates them to do well in the future (WANJIHIA, 2016)

The work environment is one of the crucial factors to keep employees motivated for their job because it enables employees to do things, which they want to do independently so that they can enjoy their work, rather than taking it as a burden on their shoulders. So, the work environment is essential for any organizations, which are willing to motivate their employees to get the best out of them. If the work environment is not providing enough facilities and workers are feeling that they are deprived of various basic rights, then they will lack the motivation to work in such a work environment, and they will look for alternative options. The employee turnover rate in such organizations tends to remain high, where employees don’t feel satisfied and motivated. If the work environment is not good enough in helping employees to get good work-life balance, then they will lack motivation, and the same is the case with operation facilities of the workplace. So, if organizations are looking to motivate their employees to do well, then they must create a great work environment, which helps employees to enjoy their work (Khan, Ahmed, Bukhari, & Paul, 2018)

It has been observed when employees have well enough autonomy and they are given choice to pursue their options at the job, they feel more valued as well as motivated. It is a fact that employee engagement is critical to get them going with the process. It is observed that organizations like to micromanage every task of their employees, which puts the motivation of employees on the back burners because they feel that the organization does not trust them. So, when they are not feeling valued, they lack motivation, and never work with full determination. It is advised to organizations that they must practice autonomy for employees at their workplace because it will always put a positive vibe in the attitude and behavior of employees. The financial aspect cannot be ignored when talking about the motivation of employees. It is a fact that people work to get financial rewards, and it was already mentioned when organizations provide good salary and financial rewards, employees feel motivated (Heibutzki, 2018). One more factor, which is considered imperative for employee motivation is the way leader or management handles them. If leaders believe in transformational leadership and they engage in good management practices, then they will surely support their subordinates as well as lead them with empathy, which gives value to the emotions of employees. So, employees will feel motivated, if they are inspired by inspirational leadership and management (Daneshkohan, et al., 2015)

Role of Employee Motivation in Organizational Efficiency

After reviewing and identifying different factors related to the motivation of employees, it is critical to evaluate the role of these factors in organizational efficiency, whether these factors prove a handful or not. The first important measure is employee empowerment. It has been observed in various contexts when employees were given the essence of empowerment and they were given ownership to do their job, then they showed a great level of motivation. The good thing about employee ownership was that it helped employees to work more effectively, which put a positive effect on their quality as well as productivity of work. It is a fact that when employees work with good quality and productivity, then the organization is able to achieve its efficiency because the overall performance of an organization is improved extensively. The second factor, which is found positive for organizational efficiency is reward and recognition. People always feel motivated and enthusiastic, when they are given rewards as well as recognition for their efforts. It gives them more motivation and encouragement to do more in future tasks, and such a level of determination always helps organizations to achieve optimum performance and efficiency in their processes (Dobre, 2013). People do work for some recognition as well, so when they are recognized for their efforts and hard work, it gives them encouragement to show more commitment and loyalty for their organization. The organizational efficiency and performance is certainly improved when employees are ready to give their 100% in every aspect (Manzoor, 2012)

The other major factor identified with the motivation of employees is their work environment providing good enough facilities. Different research studies have proved that when an organization provides an effective work environment with good enough operational facilities, where employees are able to work with autonomy, and they are able to maintain good work-life balance, then such employees are motivated to do well in any task, which is assigned to them. So, this motivation gained from a positive and enabling work environment has been found positively related to good organizational efficiency and performance. So, when things are done in a proper manner with a great work environment, such an organization will always achieve work efficiency (Dahie, Jim 'ale, and Sheik Ali, 2015).

The research has also proved in various instances that both monetary, as well as non-monetary benefits are useful in keeping employees motivated. It means when employees are provided good financial package like good enough salary with relevant perks and privileges, and then they work hard for such organizations because they feel that their organization is valuing them by taking care of their needs. So, they show more commitment and motivation in every task they perform, which ultimately puts a positive effect on the overall quality and performance of an organization (ABUBAKARI and ADAM, 2018). These findings are supporting the fact made earlier in this research that if employees are motivated with different factors, then it is more likely to put a positive effect on overall productivity and performance of employees, which means that organizational efficiency can be achieved. Different studies have proved that regardless of sector, the industry as well as the type of job, all motivational factors have been a handful in almost all kinds of work environments (Emeka, Amaka and Ejim, 2015)

Conclusion/Recommendations of Impact of Employee Motivation on Organizational Efficiency

After analyzing different aspects of employee motivation and their role in the performance of organizations, it is proved by the research analysis with a critical review of literature that there are various factors, which can play their part in motivating employees to show full commitment and determination. If employees are provided a good salary with financial rewards, then they will play their part in achieving organizational efficiency. Moreover, when employees will receive good enough recognition for their efforts and hard work, they will feel motivated to come up with even more efforts in the future. It was also found when employees are provided enabling work environment, which provides them ownership and autonomy, then they make the best choices that help organizations to achieve their efficiency and objectives. Looking at all of these motivational factors, it is recommended to all modern business organizations that they should always consider the motivation of employees as a serious subject when they are looking to achieve their goals with organizational efficiency and performance. They must consider these motivation factors to reduce their turnover rate and better place in the relevant industry.  Motivation is the process on basis of which every living organism survival depend upon without motivation even an animal don’t try to find out food for its survival after wasted their many days and a lot of struggle mostly animals don’t find out enough food for the survival of their lives but hunger and desired not lose their life is act as a motivation for the animals and in the next day they will start finding food with same effort and energy similarly in the case of mankind without motivation even a student cannot passed their exams so how can be an employee work consistently in an organization from many years with same energy and level of effort. Motivation for the employees is important as food for the living organism because employees are the essential parts of an organization they play their vital role in manufacturing and products to increase the profit rate of an organization but if there is a problems existed in the working ability of employees this will automatically reduce the efficiency of an organization so to increase efficiency rate of an organization it is necessary to keep maintain the activities for the motivation for the employees so in this they make a consistent effort with higher level of energy in result productivity and quality of products of an organization increases day by day and made a great name and fame of the organization in the industrial markets of world. Many organization of the world have great name and fame due to their quality of products which can be only attainable by the support of the employees. After conducting this research I concluded that there are many factors that can enhance the efficiency of an organization through their employees which helps to increase the productivity and quality of products. It also support in making innovative ideas and policies for the companies or organization so that’s in this way target audience have great interest in the product of this organization or we can also say that by doing this target audience will never lose their interest form the organizational  services and products. Every successful organization succeed in this world due to their quality of product but quality of products is directly relates to the working ability of employees. So to maintain the balance in the reputation of an organization it is very necessary to focus on the perspectives of motivation to motivate the employees with different factors to increase the efficiency of an organization.
