Effective communication is what makes teaching and learning fruitful. If teachers and students don’t share their ideas with each other, the time they spend learning wouldn’t be as effective as it can be. It doesn’t matter that you are a teacher or a student, you must recognize the importance of communication in the field of education.

Students often have a perception that teachers are not approachable. They believe it is better to work on their own and not consult their professors.

A time comes when students completely avoid conversing or sharing their ideas with teachers. They have a fear of this authority that teachers possess. They can just consult their teachers and solve this problem. However, they don’t because of fear.

When students don’t interact, teachers also don’t communicate with their students. Most of the teachers share their ideas and interact with only those who reach out to them. They don’t attempt to consult a student who doesn’t sit at the front or asks questions.

Due to it, a gap is created between them. It only seems to grow as time passes and due to it, students continue to face issues.

What to do?

If you are a student, you should keep one thing in mind. Your teacher is not going to scold you. Honestly, teachers are quite friendly and only a minority of them are not approachable.

If you have any problem, you should consult your teacher without hesitation. If you are honest, your teacher will also help you resolve the issue.

And if you are a teacher, it is better if you give attention to those students as well who don’t appear to be bright. It is possible that reaching out to them might help them and reduce their fear.
