The world has changed over time and so has the mindset of people. The stress points have greatly evolved from olden times to modern times. The same is for the stressors. The lifestyles have changed which has led to different perceptions about different issues. The stressors in old times would have been joblessness, the living conditions and passing away of a loved one or the domestic situations. The new and modern stressors largely remain the same but there are many other categories to it too. Job satisfaction, issues with spouse, technology, healthcare and others are modern time stressors. Not only the stressors have changed but also the degree of the effect it has on health. The stress is a major cause of mental health illness which paves the way for depression to creep in. Apart from this, many cardiac-related health issues come with distress. In the recent past, it has been observed that suicide rates have gone up which reflect the stress people are going through and mental health issues are real and need to be tackled with care.
