Project
management of the IT department is related to the management of the projects to
develop in the relevant field. The company is most likely to expand the
business in IT, and it is responsibility of the project management officer to
make sure that all the work is being done reasonably. The project helps improve
the life cycle, system life cycle, and portfolio management as it has clear initial
goals that need to be identified. The project management is clear and defines
goal to expand the business. The project is fully planned to work with team throughout
the project. Once the definite goal is implemented with practical goals it
becomes easy to attain the goal. It is helpful to execute the project in easy
way, and the targeted objectives could be attained with effective control and
monitoring of the expertise. The monitoring of the project help to control and
estimate the cost and quality of the project. The project management of the IT
department is ended with the phase where entire project shows that all the work
has been completed and approved by the relevant authority. All the stages of
the project management help to improve the life cycle of the product. With the
context to explain portfolio management and program management, all these are
managed by the different people who are working as experts in their field with
key responsibilities, which is required by each software to facilitate the
management team. Portfolio management of the software provides the opportunity
for the business entity to make better decision making and improve performance
of the team. The operations of the project management team lead to improvement
strategies in portfolio management (S. Meskendahl, 2010).
