Today I am going to reflect my learning about “understanding the global
business environment”, “Leadership in the global business environment” and
“Motivation in the global business environment” in this report.
1.1.Describe of Reflection on learning outcomes from the lectures
The
global business environment is an emerging process of twenty first century that
required hug process about the navigation of increasingly complex landscape. In
the lectures, I learned the about the remarkable theory of Johnson (2007, 2009)
that described that the global business environment is a volatile, complex,
ambiguous, and uncertain process. I learned about five major trends of global
business environment including change in the balance and growth of market, need
for increase in consumption and productivity, increase in interconnectivity,
increasing gap between the supply and demand nature of resources, and
challenges faced by the government in development of policies.
1.2. Analyze of Reflection on learning outcomes
from the lectures
The
key points of the topic in the lectures were interesting, particularly effect
of globalization in the firms around the world. I learned that how political
factors are inducing impact on the globalization and these factors include
ideology, individualism, collectivism, and socialism. The major political
systems that affect the globalization are communism, tribalism,
totalitarianism, theocratic, and democratic systems. Besides the political
systems there are some other factors that affect the globalization and these
factors include economic systems, legal and regulatory systems, technological
environments, artificial environment, and shift in the production process (Ferreira, Li, Guisinger, & Serra, 2009). They have conducted
research to analyze internatinal business enviroment and distinguished factors
that induce impact on the globalization. The future studies provide
comprehensive models that can overcome the international enviroment.
1.2.1. Evaluate of Reflection on learning outcomes from the lectures
I
can summarize my learning outcomes about understanding the global business
environment as successful business models need complete modification. The
success is a constant process and the role of government is increasing. The
process can improve the decision making. It is also useful to transfer and
modify the business in one country to another country (Ferreira, Li,
Guisinger, & Serra, 2009). The researchers, Ferreira, Li, Guisinger, & Serra, (2009) conducted
research to measure internatinal business enviroment and distinguished factors
that induce impact on the globalization. The future studies provide
comprehensive models that can overcome the international enviroment.
1.3.Describe of Reflection on learning outcomes from the lectures
The
leadership studies are about the concepts and perspectives of leaders in the
organization. The goal of present report is to generate analysis about the
ultimate success facts in the business. The leadership is a personality trait
that I want to build in myself for the future success in my career.
1.4. Analyze (theory) of Reflection on learning outcomes from the lectures
There
are many leadership theories that demonstrate the importance and influence of
leadership in the business models. These well-known theories which include Charismatic leadership,
Transformational leadership, transactional leadership, and Servant leadership.
Analysis present that transformational leadership is the best leader theory for
me to adopt in the dynamic work environment. Under my knowledge concept of
transformational leadership, leaders are the person who influences the outcomes
of interaction with a subordinate or follower. I also learned that in this
relationship, leaders concerns with a higher level of trust and motivation.
Furthermore, it also increased by knowledge about Intrinsic and extrinsic
motivation which can be increased for followers as well as leaders as a result
of transformational leadership (Harris & Hartman, 2001).
1.5. Evaluate of Reflection on learning outcomes from the lectures
I
learned that effective management in the organization must embrace values in
all the models. What I learned from the lecture notes is that leadership is a
personality trait such as abilities, skills, behavior, relationship, situation,
and working methods of a person. The significant impact of leadership is on the
achievement of a person in business. The leadership and management develop two
boundaries for success in the business. I learned that importance of
personality and leading characteristics in the managers to make the business
more successful. After having the detailed analysis, I can conclude that to do
right things in business it is important to understand the influence of each
decision in business (Feng, Nicola; Bin, 2017). Feng, Nicola; Bin, (2017) worked to measure parameters
of effective leadership and how it can be used to manage the development of
business. The work considered analysis of world-known theories of leadership.
1.6. Describe of Reflection on learning outcomes from the lectures
Motivation can
be demonstrated as a psychological process in which the person wants to improve
himself and it led to drive towards the objectives and goals. In this section,
I learned about importance of motivation in achieving the future goals. The
process of motivation includes needs, motives, behavior, consequences,
satisfaction and dissatisfaction, and feedback. I learned two natures of
motivation including intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. My
self-assessment show I follow intrinsic motivation.
1.7. Analyze (theory) of Reflection on learning outcomes from the lectures
The
theories of motivation are of two types including process theories and content
theories. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory also demonstrate the nature of motivation.
The motivation will be high if the involved things fulfilled other than if one
or two things missed, it could reduce the motivation (Martin, 2005).
1.8. Evaluate of Reflection on learning outcomes from the lectures
The overall
session of motivation was very fruitful, and it determined how I will keep my
self-motivated to achieve my future goals. Kanfer
& Chen, (2016) conducted research entitled as “Motivation in organizational
behavior: History, advances and prospects”. In their work they analyzed how
motivation in the organizational behavior induce impact on outcomes of the
research.
Conclusion of Reflection on learning outcomes from the lectures
I
have concluded that Johnson (2009) described that the global business
environment is a volatile, complex, ambiguous, and uncertain process. I learned
about five major trends of global business environment. The leadership is a
personality trait. The process of motivation includes needs, motives, behavior,
consequences, satisfaction and dissatisfaction, and feedback. I learned two
natures of motivation including intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation.
