Structure for an IT Department in a growing business

            At the global level, the scope of information technology is going to increase among the organization whatever they are produced or provide service to the customers. The time is rapidly changing and with the time the demand and needs of the customers also going to change and they want a product that can fulfill their all needs and requirements. So, the organization wants to maintain a long term relationship with its customers and for that, they modify the product according to the customer's requirement. To bring proper modification, the information technology must be implemented in the organization that brings a major change in the product's features and its development according to market demand. The information technology provides effective techniques and methodologies that how to modify the product according to demand. And with improvement in product development, it also makes the system of the organization more effective and efficient by converting the manual system into computers. And run all the operations of the organization effectively to give better results.

Scope of IT department in small businesses:

            With large organizations, small businesses and organizations also focus on the implementation of It sector within the organization because they have to face tough competition in the market from their major competitors. IT infrastructure helps the organization to optimize the product and services and also enhance the internal operations. Internal functions include business coordination, marketing or sales, administration, finance, operations, and product. To increase the efficiency of the basic functions of the organization, productivity, and communication of the organization, it is very important to implement the IT system and services to obtain the required outcome from all operations and functions.  It allows the organization to increase the growth and enhance the efficiency of the growth of the organization. It also depends on the industry and the goal of the organization that what type of IT department is established within the organization to improve the growth. IT departments help the management to optimize their best practice and give the organization the best response according to their actual targets. (Ayuso, 2018)

The infrastructure of the IT department in organizations:

            In every organization, the infrastructure of the IT department includes a database system, network systems, an enterprise system, and software and hardware systems. The executives of the company and board members have to plan all the strategic level about the IT department and its settlement. They also manage the structure to meet the growing need of the organization, align the department with the goal of the organization, and develop a practical and pertinent management model, a managerial chain of command and also indicate the low and high-level functions according to organization model. IT department is beneficial for the organization in terms of growth, optimize internal operations and increase revenue. Different aspects must be determined during the settlement of IT department that includes the expectation of stakeholders according to long term goals, the inherent value of the IT infrastructure, required IT system for the infrastructure of IT, resource allocation of IT department, in order to increase the profit and internal operations the strategic utilization of IT, IT department required skillets and the personnel and managerial goals with the team of department. Basic purpose of the IT department:

SME’s always try to enter the market in full force and stay competitive. Regardless of the size of the company. Nowadays, companies rely on the IT department to increase the profit and work performance inside the company. Top managers in every business make sure to invest in IT departments to generate profit based on the needs of the company. In our company soul-ber as starting up the company IT department will be centralized which will be controlled from one hub. The company is a small one but for the next 20 years will evolve and expanded so, to set up the department, the process will split into three faces. Recruiting an IT manager and a co-worker, dealing with suppliers, and finally setting up the departments. 

Recruiting of IT department in the organization

In this modern era, the IT department hires an internal and outsource IT stuff depend on the role. For internal, the department will recruit two It managers and technical support. For the external, the firm will require a Database Engineer and Security System Engineer.

The first step will be hiring an expert IT manager to start up the departments. From this point, the IT manager will take the lead from here to evolve the department. The manager will put a plan for the departments. Such as, the type of the network system needed to be installed, its capacity, and how many co-workers the firm needs and which IT suppliers the firm will have a contract with.   Afterward, recruit IT team members to depend on the size of the company were in our case will be two IT technicians. One for the network and VoIP system where the other will be for the security system and database.

IT suppliers of IT department in the organization

IT managers will approach hardware and software suppliers and sign a contract with them to supply all hardware and software needed to set up the offices. Such as a computer, printers, and software, etc.

Installation of IT department in the organization

• IT team will start to build the LAN (Local Area Network) inside the company.
• Create user names for employees.
• Create a Database system.
• Security Camera system
• Finally testing the system
