After
reading the "Are You a Socially Intelligent Leader” In Harvard Business
Review; it is analyzed that For the efficient managerial functions the manager
needs to focus on the learning elements so that employees can make their total
contribution and so that all organizations perform efficiently. Following there
is the focus on the 7 social competency skills mentioned in the articles that
how I implement it as a leader and in real life. However, the following
competencies are written considering the Great Man theorist analysis and social
intelligence based on the MBTI score. Moreover, the following are seven
characteristics that can be efficiently concerned to make the best workforce in
the company.
Empathy
is the first aspect that is concerned in the articles, as empathy is considered
as the range of emotional states that the manager needs to understand to make
the employee effective through a focus on his emotional empathy. From the
real-life example if I get a chance to be a leader then I will feel and share a
person's emotions because successful managers need to understand human needs
and human behavior and they use the human elements to make the organizations
successful.
However,
through considering empathy in my personal life or as a manager there will be
decision making that focuses on the cognitive thought processes, there will be
learning from the past experiences and decisions will be taken from another
person's point of view. The main perspective of the manager should understand
others and there is the need to think from others' feelings and perspectives.
There is a need to take taking an active interest after recognizing and meeting
the needs of others so that people could effectively achieve the tasks. The
manager needs to focus on the learning elements like empathy characteristics
can enhance the employee's attitude, personalities, perception and job
performance, etc.
Developing
others should be the major competency if employees focus on the aspect of
empathy; however, bolstering employee abilities and development needs should
also be considered under the cultivating opportunities because people can be
diverse in the company. Moreover, in the empathy leader, there should also
focus to get and motivate employees for the political and social currents. The
managers and leaders should have the traits and characteristics that are
important for successful goal completion and considering empathy in my personal
life can bring high achievement and better management positions. I will focus on
the situations in which employees feel relaxed and able to explore the
possibilities.
Attunement
can be explained as the personal state or reaction of a person, in the case of
the leadership, it is described as the focus that the leader needs to be concerned
about the employees for their emotional needs and mood needs. Consequently, as
a leader, it is needed to be focused that what the employees or group members
need. I was a leader who will focus on this attribute so that there could be an
efficient response to the person's emotional state. There could be a better
power of connection; as an employee will know about the work better with the
help of the appreciation from the manager.
The
manager needs to focus on the listening from the employees so that they could
efficiently perform the task if they know that someone is responding to their
needs then there could be a better focus of them on their dreams, aspirations,
and values. Moreover, as a manager, there is a need to engage people in healthy
activities through a focus on collaboration as well as the strategy-building
process. To focus on the attunement belief and aspiration the manager should
concern to build trust in the people with true inspiration. There should be
true beliefs, relationships, emotions between the employee and the manager.
To
focus on the Attunement trait, as a leader I will focus to ask the simple
questions from my team that how there will be employee collaboration with the
team right now and what tasks will be performed by whom. Moreover, there will
be questions related to the reach the potential that what steps will be
followed by the employees. The team’s needs will be responded through
problem-solving techniques so there could be the identification of the hopes,
dreams, fears as well as the emotional needs of the employees.
Organizational
awareness is also an important aspect of social competency skills that are
important for a manager because if a manager understands his company well then
there could be better guidance for the employees as well. However,
Organizational Awareness could be explained as the level of understanding of
the organization from the different aspects; it could be a culture of the
organization, structure or the issues related to the political, social, and economic
aspects. However, the manager needs to focus on every aspect of the
organization so that there could be a better response towards the
organizational needs. The organization should focus on the structure, mission,
policies, and managers need to evaluate those policies so that could be a
better environment in the company.
However,
organizational awareness will be focused by me as a manager and it could
improve staffing decisions, communication, culture, team building, and
leadership in the company. As a leader or manager, Organizational Awareness
should be the priority as in this way, the company could efficiently reach the
goals by getting understand the needs of the clients and company. However, the
company can get a competitive advantage and can stay consistent with the
results. If there is any misunderstanding in the organizational structure the
manager and employees could act in inappropriate ways and there could be less
commitment towards the job. As a good leader, there is a need to focus on organizational
awareness and another critical aspect so that there could be a better training
program in the company. Organizational awareness by the managers can result in
better strategic plans, goals, missions, dynamic culture, etc. so there could
be building better policies and procedures in each department. The manager
should be made a better strategic plan based on organizational awareness.
Trustworthy people need to be hired by the manager and it is possible if they
have organizational awareness and a new strategic plan or better strategies.
Influence
is also another aspect of social competency skills ability that is important
for the manager to consider. However, influence is considered as the essential
leadership skill that can impact on the attitudes, opinions as well as the
behaviors of the employees. Through influence, there will be power or control
by the manager. As a manager, I will also focus on the influence as it could
bring or motivates employee commitment and there could be positive results in
the company. However, managers through influence could also effectively build
trust and increase results in the company. Consequently, integrity, intent,
capabilities can also be developed in the employees through the help of the
influence aspects. The companies through influence can implement changes and
there could be a sincere commitment by the employees.
Influence
can help the company to bring effectiveness through building connections and
motivations in employees because they trust the company in a better way.
Through greater influence there could be a genuine concern and the company can
be more successful. Today leadership can influence vision and goals as it is a
true driving force. Employees can be efficiently motivated to do efforts to
produce gains as they help the company to grow exponentially.
The
organizations through influence can actualize changes and there could be an
earnest responsibility by the workers. In any case, chiefs through impact could
likewise viably fabricate trust and increment brings about the organization. Influence
social competency is significant and should be a supervisor to consider as
there could be the fulfillment of the fundamental initiatives by expertise as
there will be power by the director. As I will likewise concentrate on the
impact as it could bring or persuades worker responsibility and there could be

Developing
others is a term that helps the managers to focus on their employees so that
there could be transferability of the skills that the manager has, I will also
practice such aspects as through this leadership competency there could be
better employee development. However, I will follow a framework because it can
increase importance in the employees and it helps the manager to encompass
processes, culture as well as resources. There are learning and development
with the help of developing other techniques and in the future organization can
effectively focus on the goals that are prior or needed to be addressed.
Developing
others could also be explained as the investment in improving managers' skills
as well as the employees as it creates significant improvements that bring the
positivity in the company. For the effectiveness of the employee, there are
different development programs like developing others for the organization's
strategic goals. Developing other aspects of social competency skills that are
important for a manager because if a manager understands his company well then
there could be better guidance for the employees as well.
Now
a day's coaching is a big challenge for the managers so developing others need
to be focused through a performance management program or helping the manager's
example, promotion, recognition, rewards. Developing others could result in
learning and development and there could be better support and feedback from
the managers. Developing others also spotlights on the subjective manners of
thinking as it improves the employee's capacities and improvement I will
concentrate on developing others' circumstances in which employees feel secure
and ready to examine the potential outcomes.
Inspiration
in managers helps them to focus on the atmosphere of trust and cooperation,
allows them to make solid guidelines for the right direction. Inspiration helps
the manager to focus on the subjective manners of thinking, as there is a need
to take taking a functioning enthusiasm and addressing the necessities of
others or employees with the goal that individuals could effectively accomplish
in the organizations. Inspiration helps the manager to create significant
competency and can create improvement needs.
Inspiration
can help the manager to assist the organization with bringing adequacy through
building associations and inspirations in employees as they could be inspired
by the leader. Moreover, through inspiration, there will be a more prominent
impact in an organization which can increase effectiveness. I will focus on the
inspiration as in today's world employees can be effectively inspired so that
they gain the vision of the organization that is developing exponentially by
the managers.
Inspiration
by the managers can produce a positive influence, enthusiasm and excitement in
the employees of the company and in this way, employees can also practice
accountability, enlist, persuaded to work. Inspiration helps the manager to
exercise effectiveness and understanding if they want to show effective supervision
at the workplace. However, good teamwork comes from inspiration and it is the
right technique from which there could be encouragement and development of the
team. Inspiration can also be clarified as the enthusiastic needs and mind-set
needs that can be fulfilled by the manager. I will concentrate on this
characteristic so that there could be talented and passionate employees. I am
also considering inspiration in my own life as it can bring high
accomplishments and better administration positions. Through inspiration, the
manager can set high standards and help the employees to reach goals that are
desired.
Teamwork
is also another aspect of social competency skills ability that is important
for the manager to consider. Teamwork is considered as the superior intensity
of association; because in this way, employees will think to work better in a
team and with the assistance of the gratefulness from the manager. As a
supervisor, Teamwork or team projects should be considered as the solid
exercises through attention or joint effort there could be a better building
process. There would be genuine motivation, convictions, connections, feelings
between the team through teamwork. Teamwork or team projects help people to do
coordinated effort at present or to fulfill the organizational needs through
critical thinking methods.
However,
teamwork would result in the effectiveness of the team as there could be
strengths and abilities in the team and there could be the development of the
professional traits. However, teamwork should be considered important in the
leadership roles as it helps the team members to focus collectively on the
objectives, strategies, and deadline. The manager should focus on the planning
sessions of the team for the positive outcome and there is the need to ensure
everyone so that task could be performed in a better way for future success.
Teamwork
or team projects can help the people to produce more efficiently, so as a
leader it would be my concern to provide extra incentives to the people who
work hard or who are strong team players. The supervisor needs to concentrate
on the tuning in from the representatives so they could proficiently play out
the assignment if they realize that somebody is reacting to their needs, at
that point, there could be a superior focal point of them on their fantasies,
desires, and qualities.
