In
the research which is conducted by Jonasthan M. Mond, Philipa J. Hay, Susan J.
Paxton, Bryan Rodgers, and Jodi Nilson (2010) have provided a brief overview of
different eating disorders. The study has focused on women, and the data has
been gathered from the women participants regarding the Bulimia Nervosa. The
data from the participants gathered by using the questionnaire tool. In the
questionnaire, the measures o eating disorders are presented.
The
findings of the study have shown such attitudes & believe which previous
studies have not shown. The key strength of the study is that it has provided
new information which has filled the previous research gap. The weakness of the
study is that further investigation is still required to know the behavior and
attitudes even further.
The
data from the participants gathered by using the questionnaire tool. In the
questionnaire, the measures o eating disorders are presented. For this reason,
this article can be selected for the research study because it has discussed
different eating disorders quite efficiently.
Nicholls, W.,
Devonport, T. J., & Blake, M. (2016). The association between emotions and
eating behavior in an obese population with binge eating disorder. 17(1), 30-42.
The
study conducted by W. Nicholls and T.J. Devonport and M. Blake (2015) have
discussed binge eating disorder in association with eating behavior and
emotions in obese people. The studies which have been evaluated in the study
where from 2004 to 2014.
The
strength of this study can be seen in how it has presented the behavior and
emotions of those people who are analyzed how suffering from obesity or having
the problem of a binge are eating disorders. In the study, the articles which
have analyzed focuses more on the negative emotions instead of positive
emotions. The results of the study have
shown mix results regarding emotions effects on binge eating disorder. However,
there is also a limitation from this study, whereas it needs further
investigation regarding how emotions affect the eating behavior of the people
who are suffering from binge eating disorder and obesity.
This
study will be useful for research since in the study, the researchers have
gathered the data by conducting extensive literature review from many authentic
resources.
Burrows, T., J. S.,
McKenna, R., & Rollo, M. (2017). Food Addiction, Binge Eating Disorder, and
Obesity: Is There a Relationship? 7(3),
1-54.
Tracy
Burrows, Janelle Skinner, Rebecca McKenna, and Megan Rollo (2017) have
conducted a study to find out the relationship between obesity and binge eating
disorder. The researchers have stated
that binge eating disorder and food addiction are overlapped. In the study,
they tried to identify the overlapping features of both the food addition and
the binge eating disorder. In the study, a significant amount of data is
gathered from Australian adults. The main strength of the study is that it has
provided a brief overview of what is food addiction and what is binge eating
disorder. However further study is still required for analyzing the association
of food addiction, binge eating, and obesity.
The
results of the study have shown that the behavior factors of binge eating
disorder are less correlated with food addiction. Therefore, this study can be
used for evaluating mental disorders and binge eating disorder.
Kimberly A.
Brownley, N. D., Peat, C. M., & Lohr, K. N. (2016). Binge-Eating Disorder
in Adults. 165(6), 409-430.
In
the study, the researchers Kimberly A. Brownley, Nancy D. Berkman, Christine M.
Peat, Cynthia M. Bulik (2019). In the research study, the researchers have
stated that there is no clear treatment for binge eating disorder.
One
of the strengths of this study can be seen from an extensive literature review that
has been performed to get the data. In addition to this, the results of the
study have shown that cognitive-behavioral therapy has proved quite effective
in controlling the binge eating problem. Although this study has provided
detail information, it has limitations as well. The participants of the study
were obese women who under 20 to 40 years of age.
In
the study, the researchers have tried to provide a detail of the therapies
which are being used for the treatment of binge eating disorder. For this
reason, the study can be considered good for conducting research on binge
eating disorder. This study can become a part of the literature review of the
study.
M.Grilo, C., &
A.White, M. (2013). Orlistat with behavioral weight loss for obesity with
versus without binge eating disorder: Randomized placebo-controlled trial at a
community mental health center serving educationally and economically
disadvantaged Latino/as. 51(3),
167-175.
Carlos
M. Grilo and Martney A. White (2013) have conducted the study to know about the
association of behavioral weight loss and binge eating. The treatment of BED is
discussed and how the individuals are being treated using different therapies.
The
study has focused on Latinos. The key strength of the study is the vast
information provided by the study. The only drawback of the study is that it
focuses on the Latin population only.
There
are many studies that have focused on obesity and weight loss. It is often
considered that due to BED the individuals become obese. In this study, the
treatment of BED is discussed, and thus, this study will be a good one to be
used for the research.
