4
Find TWO academic sources to support your evaluation.
These could either be academic sources on the Company OR on your chosen aspect
of social or environmental sustainability. For each of your chosen sources,
provide an annotation as follows:
·
Key
Findings of the Source
According to
the academic literature review on sustainability practices in the supply chain,
companies need to have a focus on sustainable supply chain management system. A
series of various decisions made at the corporate management level can ensure
strategic sustainability. Research findings presented in the book show that companies
having a sustainable supply chain earn better customer responses from the
targeted markets. The chapter on sustainability concludes that sustainable supply
chain is based on environmentally friendly processes including
environment-friendly transportation of inventory and goods from production
house or warehouses to the local or retail stores (Bouchery, Corbett, Fransoo, & Tan, 2016; Eccles, Ioannou, &
Serafeim, 2014).
The supply chain includes product
distribution strategies and warehouse inventory management system. The academic
source of books is selected to support sustainable development practices by
PepsiCo Inc.

Question:
5
Find TWO non-academic sources to support your evaluation.
Ideally, try and find one source that supports positive views of your company
performance and another source that is more critical of your company
performance (either in your chosen sustainability aspect or more generally on
sustainability performance). Provide a brief annotation for these two sources:
Non-Academic
Source
·
Key
Findings of the Source
According to
the review and analysis of this source, sustainability is essential for
beverages selling companies to remain competitive in the market. Findings show
that companies are required to ensure the incorporation of sustainable
development goals in daily business operations. For instance, the focus on
sustainable development goals and practices should be on workforce inequality,
energy consumption, water use, and climate change. Furthermore, companies are
required to reduce investment in the water resources as companies need to use
the optimal level of water resources in the production of beverages and drinks.
In these non-academic sources, it is
clearly mentioned that most of the beverages selling and manufacturing
companies are unable to meet realistic goals for sustainable development. Information
extracted from this source is critical for the evaluation of PepsiCo Inc.
operations in the beverages industry (lexicon.ft.com, 2018; Niras.com, 2019).
