The three-dimensional printers
are now available everywhere in the world in the electronics market and other
stores. These printers are facing some issues regarding firearms. Through such printers,
3D guns can be made easily with the help of some software skills. These 3D guns
are not legal because these firearms are not
written with the help of such printers. With the invention of such printers, these 3D guns have become a wild issue for the US government to stop it. Then
after this in September, the court of the United
States called up for the fifth circuit. From the 1968 Gun control Act, it can be seen that only those people can sell and purchase the firearm those have
licensed by the United States of America. These people just deal with a serial number of guns for which they have made
a license so that according to that the US government can trace that weapon easily. But in the act, there is an exception
for those people that are involved in gun selling and manufacturing. Those
persons that are involved in making their guns on
their own, this means they are 80% receiver. The 80% receiver means that the person has metal parts to make a
proper firearm for himself and it is also
called receiver. These 3D printers can prepare
3D guns, and that is totally against the
exception of the 1968 act. Anyone with such printer
can make their gun that doesn’t contain any serial number.
Timeline of 3D GUNS AND 2ND AMENDMENT
1963: The gun control act has been promoted initially by the President of the
United States of America named John F.
Kennedy (Michaud)[i].
1965: At that time, the bill has been regulated for the interstate shipment of
Firearms, and this bill will be presented in 1965, and that bill is the reflection of the federal firearm act of 1938,
and these laws have been presented by
Senator Thomas (Smith)[ii].
1968: In that year there was the death
of two essential party members occurred,
the one is Martin Luther King, and the other one is Senator Kennedy, then after this in June the bill pass for the gun
control act has been stopped due to lack
of votes (FINNEY)[iii].
1968: The Gun control act has been presented this year with the help of
Martin Luther King, Jr. The federal parties are involved in helping the country
against gun use (ROSENFELD).[iv]
1968: Then after this in October 1968 the
law for the gun control act has been passed according
to the second amendment of the constitution. This is also called the Gun
Control Act (DOLAK)[v].
1993: After some years there were some changes
that had been made in the Gun
control Act of 1968 for enhancing it with the help of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act. In this act, there is a discussion
about the handguns. For this, there will
be a proper system that will able to check the proper gun license of the gun seller
and purchaser. Through this, they can
easily make a perfect list of such person
that is involved in selling and
purchasing of guns (Herbert)[vi].
2018: 3D firearms has become a massive problem for the US government because manufacturing of such guns is strictly
banned. This is because there is
no proper license for such guns, and also
it does not contain any serial number on it. These type of guns can be
prepared at home with the help of 3D printers (Bbc)[vii].
3D Guns and 2nd Amendment
The gun act was initially promoted
by the president of America that was Mr. Kennedy. With the help of this law, the selling of guns has been restricted because through such selling of guns
the crimes are increasing brutally, that
why the president emphasizes that law in
their country. Then after this, the
president was shot with the help of riffle
that has been purchased with the help of mail order.
In the constitution of America,
there is a demonstration of the guns control in the Second Amendment. In that amendment, there is a discussion about the protection of people right that they can keep
their arms with themselves. This is for
the protection of the citizens. For this, they must be under the required age, and also they must have a gun license so that
they can easily buy a gun for their
protection. The right to own any kind of gun
is mention in that act. Mr. Dodd presents
himself in the front of debate about the ownership of the gun. This
is for sure that for this they must have to implement a law so that for the
future there will be no difficulty for
selling and purchasing of guns. For this,
in 1965 the bill has been passed from the federal
assembly for the gun control act.
Due to the death of two important
politicians at the start of 1968, the
first one was the junior Luther king, and
the next one is the US senator. Due to these deaths the gun control bill has
been blocked in the white house and for this new date has been presented, and a new
vote is scheduled. Due to these deaths,
the total votes for the bill pass has been
decreased for this such actions has been taken.
After few years some congressional hearings put a sewer ban on such mail
order guns, then after this, the Gun act
law had been passed in 1968, and this is
supported by the Executive vice president, and he focused on banning
such guns selling in America. After a
lot of crimes from the mail order guns, for this,
the vice president took some major steps
to implement the Gun control act with the help of some civil rights from the
Martin Luther King. From the past few
years, there were a lot of issues regarding guns.
This is because in 1967 some members from
the Black Panther party moves towards the safe house and shows riffles and warn
them against the law to be implemented.
They promote to remove that law to be
implemented in that country. For this,
the government United States of America took essential
steps to enforce this gun control law in their country. In the gun act control of 1968, there is a demonstration about the gun sellers that they can sell the guns to
those that contain a gun license. Every gun category has the serial number, and on that basis,
the weapon can be sell or purchased only.
There will be a proper restriction for on
selling guns without a serial number. In
that act, the required age for the gun
buyer has been mentioned in detail.
In late 1968 the Gun control act
has been presented, and in this, there is a restriction on selling and purchasing of guns without a license has been
stopped. In this act there is a mention
of the mail-order
sales of different kind of riffles, like shotguns has been banned. Due to such restriction, many drug users and felons found mentally diseased. In the start, that ban has been introduced by Thomas and then after this Kennedy took significant actions on banning such guns in
their country. In the era of Kennedy, there were 14 states in which the
citizens can carry a hand pistol with
themselves in their home, then after this that gun law was tight, and in states,
it becomes illegal to carry a handgun in home.
In the start of 1993, there are some changes that have been made in the Gun control act of 1968. That
has become advance with the help of the Brady
Handgun Violence Prevention Act. In that law, there will be a proper system that is involved in checking the proper background of such person that is involved
in selling and buying the Handguns. There are some important amendments to the
law. The most important amendment was that this is illegal if a person sells and then after this dispose that firearm
to any person without any person that has the gun license or without a gun license. For this, there will be a proper
system that will able to check an appropriate
gun license of the gun seller and purchaser.
3D guns can easily be manufactured
with the help of 3D printers, and such weapons are building
at home. Due to this, it does not contain
any serial numbers, so due to this these guns are
banned in that country according to the Gun control Act of that US. The
first firearm was presented in 2013, and then its blue
print has been downloaded more than 10,000 times. Then after this, the government of the US has taken serious
steps against such activity in that country. This
is because such guns do not contain any
serial number and also the owner of these guns are without a license. This
was become an enormous problem for America after 2013. According to the second
amendment, there is proper mention that no one is allowed to carry a gun with a license
or any serial number.
