In the recent few years to overcome the scarcity
of spectrum in the system of wireless communication, CR or the technology of
cognitive radio is proposed. Preventing the cognitive radio from adverse
interference from the spectrum sensing is considered a significant issue and
problem in the system of cognitive radio. Investigations and evaluation and
performances of different techniques of spectrum sending for using wireless
networks like Simuling and MATLAB.
Background
of the Project of
Wireless communication
Wireless communication is a need for the
wireless communication of the spectrum. Spectrum regulator has adopted the
policy of FSA or fixed spectrum access to support various wireless applications
that assign different spectrums to dedicated users. Only the licensed or
assigned users seem to have the right of using a certain spectrum, whether the
licensed are using it or not. Unlicensed persons may use the spectrum when
primary users not using the spectrum, as spectrum is a limited resource. The SU
can capture the radio environment. This capability, called (CR) Cognitive Radio
Technology. CRS focal point is the spectrum sensing, which enables them to
sense and identify spectrum holes which are vacant and utilize them without
adversely affecting other licensed users or CRs. In general, spectrum bands are
the frequency bands which are not utilized by licensed users or have a specific
interference within them.
The methods of sensing spectrum are
classified as cooperative sending, detection of transmitter, and receiver
detection methods.
Transmission detection spectrum Method: using
sensing channel band to a primary receiver that transmitting information to a
primary user.Transmission detection method. Further, two techniques are specific
sensing of signal and bliding sensing. The methods of blind spectrum are based
on the samples of signal power. Generally, this method has other types as well
including detection of Eigenvalue and detection of Energy.
Energy Detection: In the channel band, the
signal power is estimated where the fundamental transmission is compared with
the threshold which is predefined. Advantages of energy detection: Low
computational complexity, Implementation simplicity. Secondary users are aware
of the information which is utilized within the primary transmission. For
spectrum sensing energy, the only solution is concerned with identification. This
technique has several drawbacks.
Signal specific sensing: Having prior
knowledge of transmitted signals is known as signal specific sensing. Then the
energy detection method, the signal specific sensing method, has more
computation power. Main Advantages: signal specific sensing does not require
prior knowledge of noise power as compared to energy detectors.
The signal specific methods have two more
categories: Detection of matched filiter, detection of cyberstational feature.
Match filtering: To detect communication signals, optimally is
match filtering. Consumoption of high power, requirements fo perfect
synchronization, significant gain of processing in short time are the main
advantages while the knowledge concerned with the transmission is a drawback.
Cyclostationary feature detection: In many
wireless communication signals, cyclostationary inherently present. Change
periodically as a function of time; this means the statistical properties of
the transmitted signals. To aid spectrum signals, the cyclostationary produced
by modulation, coding or by intentionally incurred.
At least two techniques of spectrum
sensing we will use in this project to carry out the performance of different
methods such as pf or profitability detection, pf or false detection’s
probability, and pm or probability of misdetection.

This investigation will base on different
types of spectrum sensing techniques, including cyclostationary, Matched
Filter, Energy detection. In this workpackage we will investigates different
aspects of each technique such as model, mathematical analysis, pros and cons.

In spectrum sensing techniques, the system
model will be able to address several issues and challenges such as sensing
interface limit, channel uncertainty, and Noise uncertainty. We will formulate a
mathematical model that describes each spectrum technique for implementation.

Simulation models for the spectrum technique
To stimulate the real-word scenario, the
simulation model contains a complete signal chain. Channel model that simulates
the effects of multipath fading scenario, the chain is starting from random
data generation, modulation stage, pulse-shaping filter. Versus types of
results that will be used later on in performance evaluation, will be produced
by the model.

In terms of probability of detection, miss
detection, and false alarms, the system performance of the selected spectrum
sensing techniques would be evaluated. Different aspect techniques and
stimulation and theoretical results versus comparison will make.

research background that includes past work in the report. Corresponding
mathematical model and analysis are the design procedures of the spectrum
sensing techniques. Simulation model made performance evaluation and evaluation
