Essay on Career Plan

It is highly essential to have a career plan regarding what career you want to choose and how it will help you to achieve your desired goals. I have created a detail career plan because I know the importance of planning. Without a plan no one can achieve their goals efficiently. The leadership course which I had studied when I was in the college has provided brief information about setting long term and short term goals. The aim of goal setting is to define the goals which you want to achieve so that strategies can be established for achieving those goals.

My long term goal, which is usually for 5 years, for now, is to complete my MSc degree in communication engineering. After completing my MSc degree I want to work in the telecommunication sector in Iraq.  Currently in Iraq the communication infrastructure is not suitable for providing services like4G and 5G. In many countries around the world 4G services are available. It can be said that Iraq lacks behind other countries in telecommunication services. So in order to compete with the world Iraq would have to upgrade its current telecommunication infrastructure so that people can get world-class communication facilities.

For telecommunication infrastructure upgradation they would need individuals who have the skills & knowledge for upgrading the infrastructure. In other words, they need engineers and experts who can convert the existing infrastructure. I believe that my MSC degree will allow being to become a part of the Iraq telecommunication sector so that I can play a role in upgrading the existing infrastructure. Currently I haven’t got any chance of working in the telecommunication companies. I am living in Turkey for the past 4 years, but I haven’t lost hope. I am in touch with my friends who are working in the telecom sector of Iraq.

My plan is to work for the organization which can not only allow me to utilize my skills and abilities but also provide career growth opportunities. I know that in my homeland many opportunities exist in the telecom sector, and after completing my studies I will have the opportunity to be a part of any major telecom corporation which operates in my homeland. I believe that my skills and abilities after completing the studies will allow the organization to experience growth and improve the current situation of Iraq’s telecommunication infrastructure.

Currently, I am working in the GBG plc. It is a huge organization where I work as professional support engineer. Working with such an organization has allowed me to learn lot of new things and will enhance my experience with the passage of time. In short can say that working with GBG will be a great addition to my career plan.
