Essay on Networking

Along with my big interest in educational and professional life, I have also put a great effort and focus on shaping up my self-development personality for the last few years. This has led me to attend the personality analysis courses provided by NLP. I found this subject as an interesting one to help me out in formatting and maintaining a relationship with people around me, by giving the value of strengths and weaknesses from each personality.

In 2011, I was elected to perform as a speaker in the first week of my undergraduate study. That event was the first meeting party meant for all of the fresh students. Along with this, I have also expanded my network by getting closer to the majority of students here.

 I still remember the first time I moved to live in Turkey about five years ago, where only five foreigners that I knew and all of us were new in this country. At that time, I found it impossible for me to build a relationship and also find an appropriate job. I was aware that I have no skill in speaking Turkish language and there was no way that I could live easier in the country unless I will learn to speak in Turkish language. Thus, to waste no more time, I joined a Turkish language course and adapted myself with new friends.

In the city that I lived, there were about 10 thousands of refugees from Syria, and everyone that I knew has been telling me not to get close with them. However, I ignored all those controversies and built up a good relationship with them.

From this relationship, I have found out that those Syrians were not as bad as the people thought. I even have 2 Syrians as my closest friends until now. In fact, I even offered for four jobs by the Syrian business persons. That was a memorable experience for me since it taught me very well how to create a good relationship with different people with different behavior where we need to respect and appreciate one another.

Up till now, I have been working in GBC plc for1 and ¾ years. This job has been supporting me in expanding my network greatly. The reason is due to, in this profession, I have to deal with various new employees who work from many different teams across the world. Not only this, but I also expand my network by dealing with many types of customers.

I believe that I will get an excellent opportunity to support my networking by getting this scholarship. It would be an honor for me to organize and manage both local and also international events with a perfect collaboration with other Chevening alumni.
