The
project management is highly essential for achieving success in the project. If
the project is not going to be managed appropriately than the project might not
deliver on time. This not only causes financial loss to the business or to the
project team but also the reputation of the organization also suffers as a
result. Today there are many software available through which the project can
be managed efficiently. There are also many techniques and approaches through
which the project can be managed easily. Some of the key techniques to manage
the project are to create project budget, established work plan and form a Gantt
chart through which the time of each activity can be known. In this project an
online HR system will be established. The following project management
techniques can help the project team to deliver the project on time.
Techniques for Managing the Project
Work plan
The
work plan provides brief information about the activities which are going to be
performed in the project. The project consists of various phases, and in each
phase different activities have to be performed. Different activities have
their own time limit, and each activity has to complete according to its set
time limit so that project can be delivered on time. Here an online system for
HR department of the organization is going to be established. In the initial
phase the work plan is going to be established, which provides brief
information about the activities which are going to be performed in the project
(Morris & Pinto, 2010).
This
project is going to have 4 main phases. The first phase is going to be the imitation
phase. The second phase is going to be planning phase, the third phase is the
execution phase, and the last phase is the closure phase. In the first phase
project charter is established which provides information about the project
team and what role they are going to perform.
In first phase of the project, the scope statement and budget of the
project are formed according to which the project team utilizes its resources.
The project is considered successful when the project is completed under the
set budget (Morris & Pinto, 2010).
After
creating the project charter the planning phase of the project begins in which the
work plan, project control plan is established. In the work plan document the
most important thing is the work break down structure, which includes all the
key deliverables of the project. The third phase is the execution phase in
which online HR system will be established. First the prototype of the HR
system will be established. The HR system will be tested to know whether there
are any issues in the HRs system or not. If the HR system passed the test than
the HR system will be implemented in the organization. In the last phase the HR
system will be reviewed by the project team to determine whether it is working
successfully or not. If the project works according to the set goals than the
project will considered a success (Kerzner, 2009).

Through
the Gantt chart, the time period for each activity can be seen. It can be seen
which activities should be done on priorities and which can be delayed. The
Gantt chart is considered among the most important techniques for managing the
projects efficiently. Below are the activities which are going to be performed
in the Online HR system development project (Morris & Pinto, 2010).
Conclusion of Project Planning
Techniques
If
all the above discussion is summarized than it is clear that project management is highly essential
for achieving success in the project. If the project is not going to be managed
appropriately than the project might not deliver on time. This not only causes
financial loss to the business or to the project team but also the reputation
of the organization also suffers as a result. The work plan provides brief
information about the activities which are going to be performed in the
project. The project consists of various phases, and in each phase different
activities have to be performed. Different activities have their own time limit,
and each activity has to complete according to its set time limit so that
project can be delivered on time.
