In the modern world, the
buying behaviors of customers are changing at a rapid rate. In fact, these
trends need organizations such as Pepsi and Coca-Cola to ensure that their
strategies are aligned with these trends or otherwise, they might face the
issue of generating fewer profits. The most important trend in the market is
the introduction of healthy products. Customers have become even more aware and
conscious of their health than the past because of several reasons. An
important reason of this change is the publicly available information about
products and how they influence health.
Coca-Cola is operating in a market where if there is an
issue with the products, the organization can face issues in attracting
customers and selling less products. At present, customers seek products which
can satisfy their appetite and thirst without affecting their health even a
little. They don't want products which contain a high density of different
elements such as sugar because they affect human health in an adverse manner.
Suggestions of
Coca Cola (Diet Coke)
In order to increase the sales of Diet Coke,
following suggestions should be considered and implemented by the Coca-Cola
Organization:
An effective alternative of sugar should be
identified by the organization which is natural and doesn't pose a risk at the
health of customers. For instance, artificial sweeteners shouldn't be used in
the Diet Coke for ensuring for adding flavor to the drink because it will
adversely affect the customers. With the increasing health consciousness of
customers, this will serve to create an advantage for the organization and will
also help the firm in increasing its sales of the product. Diet Coke doesn't
possess the same taste like a regular Coke and due to it, customers are not
satisfied. It is important for the organization finds a healthy alternative of
sugar which can be used in Diet Coke and can provide the same flavor to
customers.
Another suggestion that should be considered by
the organization is to enhance the coloring scheme of Diet Coke to make it more
attractive to customers around the world. Even though the silver-white coloring
scheme is effective in attracting customers, the strategy doesn't work for
different people in different countries. Therefore, the coloring scheme should
be changed in such a manner that it is effective in attracting customers
belonging to different cultures and ethnicities.
These suggestions should be considered and
strategies must be formed on the basis of these suggestions to ensure that the
organization is effective in attracting new customers and satisfying the
existing base of customers.
