The author has
suggested in this article that if we speaking of Teaching English as an
International Language or also known as TEIL placed on being politically
correct, in which the only gesture to be egalitarian as well inclusive,
supported and encouraged by various ideological stance. The article also has
described that there are some specific ideologies, around language and further,
that will be more applicable to be used with some TEIL's factors than others
and this situation might able to trigger ELT experts to whether accept or
refuse TEIL, depend on their beliefs.
Moreover, the
author also purposed that it is a reality that there are some specific
language, ideologies, and further, that have been measured as compatible ones
to work together with a number of different features of TEIL. This circumstance
has been motivating some English Language Teaching (ELT) experts to either
supporting or else refusing this technique to be implemented into English
language teaching.
On the other
hand, the article has stated that TEIL is not only around being politically
appropriate and correct or motivating some ideologies. Instead, it is further
beyond about knowledge, understanding, and also receiving these true realities
of the universal utilization of the English language in these modern days. In
addition to this, the author has also highlighted that there is a necessity of
acquiring the foundation of teaching English to the modern society.
The author
further noted that TEIL was created with a purpose and premise to teach the
students across the world in speaking English and also use English within a
different and complex setting. Instead, the purpose is actually to get the
understanding around the difference and complexity as a part of the reality
whereas the modern society lives in this globalization world.
The author has
concluded the article with a disservice to all the students that if we need to
do the best on practicing English into our daily conversation. In simple words,
no matter the teacher will believe or not that there must be different English
variation, or else if the main EIL utilization must be able to deviate their
norms, principles, and standards meant for the international communications for
all of the people from different countries across the world.
Thus, the main
goal of TEIL mentioned by the author is to align the daily practices of English
speaking along with the reality in modern society. If the main goals of English
teachers is to make sure all the preparation for all of the students in achieving
their personal goals, then the linguistic will really help them out in learning
English.
