This article
discusses the combined experiences of the authors as well as the teacher
educators regarding the stance literacy for the English language teaching (ELT)
in the different parts world. Experiences from coaching are described in the research
literature. There is a need to enhance or increase content knowledge to engage
in professional development. Coaching ability needs to be effectively concerned
as it can also result in personal commitments to learning or teaching.
There is a
focus on the public reflection that how to negotiate and renegotiate regarding
the objective of coaching. The discussion on expanding the students’ literacy
is done that how teachers could be developed. Advocating should be more
horizontal, collaborative. Educators are encouraging and motivating the atmosphere
for teaching and learning.
The authors
mentioned that the reason behind this is to support the students that the
aspects of the professional resources need to be concerned as teacher educators
said that committee assignments, web-based resources, strategies, tactic, assessments,
etc. need to be evaluated before the efficient literacy-coaching techniques.
In this study,
the authors also have revealed the effective ways for the
professional-development sessions, there is a need for proper planning,
modeling, and teaching as well as the teacher-coach conferences or schedule
formative. The point from the teacher educators that was interesting is based
on the “sharing teaching. That there should be a stance to think together; as
if student and teacher think together then there can be successful coaching
that is vital for the students (Mraz, Salas, Mercado, & Dikotla, 2016).
An interesting
topic from this study is that there should be a win-win situation by using
literacy coaching steps. There are several approaches to teacher support that
need to be concerned and in this way, one can be more generous in the
professional. The technique of brainstorming is also interesting. Six areas in
literacy coach are also focused and in them, diversity is the most interesting
aspect that should be concerned in classrooms.
The study
concluded that it will be beneficial the teachers, coaches, and administrators
shared their perceptions and expectations that how to effectively fulfill the
goals of the current literacy programs. As described that there is the need for
the goals, resources, scheduling as well as the assessment procedures. Moreover,
teacher educators also focus on classroom activities and the environment that
there is a need to build trust in the classroom for the best learning.
