Introduction of Health and safety
In the early 60’s American states
different kind’s of crises by the nation, like civilian rights, women rights,
and many other social issues need attention of the country, in this similar
time the industrial field also facing the problems regarding health issues and
the unexpected accident was increased high in amount the amount increase so
much that almost 15000 employees died in the job every year, just because of
less safety and health legislation. After monitoring all these situations by
the new jersey senator he said instead to improve these situations we need to
create further action for the safety of employees. He paid attention to the
hazards of workers and save them from noise pollution, dust pollution, and
cotton dust. And a petition was submitted in parliament house by William, who
is working for passing this bill. In his statement, he said in the last 25
years, almost 400,00 workers died in the industry's accidents and by different
diseases. After hearing all these incidents, for the safety of employees of the
companies, The Occupational Protection and Health Act in 1970 was done by the
president of that time. At the begging of this act, the mandate would focus
best on standardization to build voluntary consensus in the organization of the
American state. When the OSHA published in 1970 the bill includes the proper
hygiene system in the company for the betterment of employees ' health and
safety precautions, and the act built some significant barriers for the
engineers for their safety; they include the limitations on intoxicants, which
remain affected today. They make substantial standards for the group of
regions, vinyl chlorides, benzene, arsenic, hearing conservation, cotton dust
following. These early standards responded to safety and health issues. In this
time of period, OSHA employe many strategies; in the beginning the organization
pays importance to the voluntary adherence with the inspection refers to
catastrophic accidents and the most dangerous and unhealthy for the
workplace.OSHA further makes improvements is its investigation targeting system
in the last of 1970s to pay attention to the health inspection in industries to
deal with a severe problem. In the next era 1980’s the OSHA make resolutions in
his act they worked on the requirements to give the employee access toward
medical treatments, and to covered the safety standards on the extensive range
such as upgradation of fire protection, electrical equipments safety,
sanitation maintenance in agriculture, handling grains in proper way, proper
wastage process and emergency options and lockout avoidance in the energy
sources. OSHA further extended the voluntary adherence efforts in various ways;
they enhance the free consultation in the programs for the first time in this
year, for those employees who participate in the visit of meeting. During this
time of period, many states running their own OSHA programs for the final
approval from the agency to verify their plans and to meet all the criteria of
the agency, and in the last of the decade, 25 jurisdictions were running their
own OSHA programs. In the third decade of the 19th century, OSHA re-read
their goals and further looking for the reinvention of the process and pay a
look back through what ways they make variations in these processes to increase
the procedure to lessen the ratio of injuries, illness, and deaths in the
workplace. The major safety standards or techniques can be made for the
industries are permit-required confined spaces, process safety management,
electrical safety process for the workplace, fall-protection in constructions
and scaffolds. And in the 1990s, the company upgrades the formaldehyde,
methylene chloride for personal protection and respiratory protection
standards, developed and covering lead exposure in the construction, the
issuance rules for the laboratory workers exposed to the toxic chemical. In the
1990s the agency decided for the strict implementation of the inspection target
system; they chose to give plenties to those who were not following the rules
of safety and health in their industries as regarding these problems get lousy
day by day. In 1990s congress increase the number of plenties for the
violations of the rules from 1,000$ to 7,000$, and if the violation is very
serious then the number of plenties is 10,000$ to 70,000 $. At the end of this
century the OSHA make partnerships with different companies to improve safety
and health. And in the last decade of 2000 new rules were issued, OSHA incents
the new way learning options through a satellite system, and through the
computer system to provide broader access in training for the worker safety and
health. In the fourth decade they also focus on reducing illness and fatalities
in popular industries. OSHA has come along in these three decades, and the
injury rates decrease by 40 %, and health prevention rate increase 60%. The
OSHA makes great success in the industries by using these methods workers'
health issues resolve they work with good health as well as death rates also
decreased, but it,s work is far from done the OSHA need to make more progress.
At the same time, they must look for the further challenges that they may face
in the future; after 30 years OSHA is still a small company or agency with a
great and big mission. (Alexander, 1991)
Conclusion of Health and safety
The advantages of OSHA attributed
to the higher production rates and increased productivity from efficient
materials of the organizations, safety is the most critical factor for the
success of any company. Worker safety is the most important reason for the
industrial operation because the machinery operations often remove worker from
the workplace to protect them from the dangerous environment of the factory. In
the united states, as described above OSHA act of 1970 was making for safer
work and healthy environment for the workers. OSHA had the effect of promoting
the production of corn in the factory. And another advantage is the less time
consuming hours worked on average per week in the factory, and the company
allows two leaves per week in United States, which means almost 40 hours of
work per week. Finally the time typically required for the maximum production
of the material in the factory and it generally reduced with manufacturing the
products of the corn. The disadvantage is referred with the displacement of the
worker . And the other disadvantage is the social profits that might result
from the retaining displaced worker for their jobs, and almost in every case
the worker job had taken away, and they may turn the worker in the emotional
stress, and geographical displacement of the worker to relocate the individual
who is another source of stress for the employee.
The safety system that is
used in our factory we follow the following steps work permit, lockout and tag
out technique then we checked the workplace is it confined or not we review the
environmental conditions with the help of gas analyzer in which we tested the
oxygen level Co2 & HCL then we allow the worker to work. If we do the hot
work then we check the conditions according to areas, and we always follow the
maintenance schedule and documentation through ISO. For our workers, we check
their health and insured there PPES during work, and we delivered training how
to safe yourself during your work. (Calavita, 02 August 2014).
