Introduction of Should School Involve Political Issue Discussion

Education is an important parameter of society and different issues arise for topics that must or should not be discussed in school with its positive and negative impact on society as well as development of students. The main elements of whole-person education are moral, civic and national education that are having goals of developing positive values in students for learning and teaching different subjects with providing learning experiences. Values of students are identified; objectives are verified and reasonable judgments are made on various issues that can play its role in different stages of development so effective actions can be taken according to issues in a future life (JONES, 2018). Moral and civic education is promoted in school by realizing seven priority values to students that include perseverance, responsibility, commitment, respect for others, national identity, integrity and care for others. Learning activities can strengthen by making positive values towards everyday events of life.

After the education system of the United Kingdom, education in Hong Kong has been modified. It is made compulsory and free for primary students and junior secondary school. First, three years of secondary education are also compulsory.

Students are not included in politic talks because of which students do not know about expressing their rights in different matters. School is the place where students are taught and they are avoided to participate in political talks that made them less powerful and more vulnerable. Politics is affecting children and to flourish children in an effective way with a sense of justice and injustice, good and evil, it is important to talk about politics (Baquedano-López, Patricia, & Hernández, 2013).

Independent thinking is promoted by providing political education to students in school as school is the only place where they can get knowledge and information about all relevant issues in society. Students must be well aware of society and its issues as it can provoke knowledge of justice and injustice. Moral knowledge of students can be increased by providing them information for social and political issues. It can versatile student’s knowledge and make them more practice in analyzing things (Journell & Buchanan, 2013). Youngsters show more interest in discussing social issues as they want to know every critical aspect. If they are provided with political knowledge, they can perform better and in a mature way when they start their professional life. Some youngsters are more interested because they care more to correct issues in society and it can lead to positive change in surroundings.

Academic achievement of students of Should School Involve Political Issue Discussion

Hong Kong is having a highly ranked education system because it follows the education system of the UK that is highly ranked education system and it is also having high competitive place among 141 economies. Effective critical thinking in students can also maintain and all the attained knowledge is experienced. By increase in political discussion in schools, academic results can be increased effectively. School teachers are not only responsible to teach textbook knowledge only but they are also responsible to teach them about society and its raised issues. By warning them about rising social issues, they can know about all of the happenings of society (Komarraju & Meera, 2011). Student’s brain is also stimulated by social knowledge and habit of critical thinking can be developed in students. They are developed by providing multi-thinking ability so they can get more success in life.

Students are encouraged to create output by the cooperation of different teachers

It is difficult for teachers of different subjects with various cultures to communicate with each other. By discussing various topics other than education, the relationship among students and teacher can be increased that can help students to ask about any question that rise in his mind and lea to critical development of his mind also providing ease to his future life (Journell & Buchanan, 2013). By discussing social issues, interaction is increased as it is the most current topic that can be discussed among them. This interaction can also increase understanding of each other that is also beneficial in an educational career and they can more clearly describe education topics as well.

There can be a significant and positive impact on society when there is great political education with free atmosphere to discuss it. People can vote in many democratic societies at the age of 18. At age of 18, most people think that they are adults (DRUMMOND, 2015). The educational path is selected by some of the students and they commit to doing social work. When they are having good social awareness, they can take responsibility for their future in an effective way. They are having political knowledge so they can vote with more responsibility to the responsible political party (Komarraju & Meera, 2011). Because of this, it is important for students to have enough social and political knowledge and they can be well taught only when they are students and knowledge is provided to them from start of their educational career as school is considered their second home and it is required by school to teach them all political influences so it is important for schools to involve political issues. It is required to teach students about political concerns because it can provide the freedom and core value of society can be increased. For increased improvement of society, it is important for schools to include social and political issues in the study. Social awareness can be effectively increased with increased participation of students that can also aid government to provide effective policies for improvement in processes of citizens (Baquedano-López, Patricia, & Hernández, 2013).

Political issues are important to discuss in schools as it can improve their social knowledge and can aware of them for all of the issues related to politics that can help them in their future to support effective political parties or to improve society in better way. However, some of the critics said that schools must not include social and political talks as it can alter their ways and change their way from the study. They also analyzed that it can depress them to study more effectively and can disturb the actual meaning of school as students will not pay full concentration on their study and will focus more on political aspects. But there are more supportive studies for encouraging involvement of political studies in schools as it is having better impact on their development so it must be included but with not disturbing school studies.
