The climate change in California is due to
global warming and wild fires in the US residences. According to a survey conducted by the US
government, approximately 900,000 Western US residences are living under the
risk of higher Wildfire. The risk area contains 35% area of California. In California,
80% area is covered with rangelands and forest and it becomes 100 million acres
containing higher growth of trees (Oag. ca. gov, 2013; Miracosta. edu, 2018). The climate change
induces impact on the land productivity, survival and growth of these trees and
change their habitats. In addition to other factors, climate change Amazon forest increases the temperature of
the forest (Miracosta. edu, 2018). The report provided by California natural
resources agencies in 2009 and 2013 was prepared for adoption strategy of
California climate. The report contains information about expected and existing
impact of global warming on the climate of California (Oag. ca. gov, 2013; Miracosta. edu, 2018). The Other factors
identified in the work are effect of Climate Change on the human beings, sea water, coastal areas, land
and infrastructure. The purpose of present work is to identify the climate
change on three things as mentioned
below,
1.
The climate change is having in the majority
areas
2.
Current climate change provides fossil fuel
3.
The effect of climate changes descriptive and
destructive instead of being beneficial
Impact of climate change on people in California
California is
already experiencing worst air condition, hotter temperature leading to smoke,
and salt water contamination. The higher temperature leads to the production of
smoke which damages human lungs and increases problems for the respiratory
system, heart disease, and eventuall
ends on the death of the person. Different
population segments face a higher risk of asthma (Oag. ca. gov, 2013; Miracosta. edu, 2018).
Impact of climate change on infrastructure
of California
California is
listed in one of the bigger and biologically diverse regions of the world. The highest
number of unique plants and animal species makes it diverse for the ecosystem. The
climate change induces an adverse impact on the wild life Habitat and plants (Oag. ca. gov, 2013). The adverse effect
of Climate Change in California is on clean water supply system, services for the wellbeing, wildlife, fish, and Timber. Office of
Environmental Health Hazard Assessment's conducted research on the climate
change and climate actions to measure the effect on people environment
infrastructure land and water system ocean and sea level (Oag. ca. gov, 2013; Miracosta. edu, 2018).
Impact of climate change on land and water
in California
In California,
one of the most important National reservoirs of water is Sierra Nevada
snowpack. Under certain conditions, the snow pack is higher that releases after
15 Million-acre feet of water in summer as well as spring. California requires
the construction of water storage facilities and dams to handle the snow melt
water (Oag. ca. gov, 2013). Due to global warming, the higher
temperature causes earlier melting of Snow packs. California requires proper
storage facilities of water to reduce the risk of floods. The climate change has
an impact on the growth and survival of trees and reduces the productivity of
lands (Oag. ca. gov, 2013). Forest become more vulnerable in the
case of Climate Change due to fire. Fire season in the California forest initiates
earlier and last a long time. The occurrence of Wildfire in a state increases favorable
conditions for the fire suppression and emergency response. The higher fire rates cause damage to
property and coast hire (Oag. ca. gov, 2013; Miracosta. edu, 2018). Climate change in
California that is higher temperature, rising of sea levels, increase in the
risk of pests, and salt water contamination is observed. In the agricultural industry
of California, during 2007, revenue generated was approximately $39 that
includes vegetables and fruits. Due to the change in climate the production is
declined that leads to food storage as well as higher prices of the eatables (Oag. ca. gov, 2013).
Impact of climate change on the ocean and
coast in California
The effect of
Climate Change on the sea level rise, coastal flooding, and coastal erosion is
also investigated by a number of researchers. According to a survey, approximately
85% of the California population is living in the coastal counties (Oag. ca. gov, 2013). The sea level of California coastal areas
have risen approximately eight inches as compared to the past century and it is
expected to be increased about 20 to 55 inches at the end of the century (Oag. ca. gov, 2013). Half a million
people are at risk of flooding along with the destruction of infrastructure,
property, building roads, power plant, tourist
destination, and hazardous waste sites that cost approximately a hundred
billion. The contamination of state delta and levee system increases with due
to the interaction of salt water of sea (Oag. ca. gov, 2013; Miracosta. edu, 2018).
