The title is one of the main parts of a research paper. It illustrates the whole idea of the research. By just reading the title, it becomes very easy for the reader to make assumptions about the details mentioned in the work and if they really want to read it further. Typically, the title is that part of your research paper that is read ten times more than anything else in your paper. People search for their thing, they see your title, they read it, if it is according to their interest they continue reading it and if not then they skip to the next one.

`While writing the title for your research paper, it is very important to make it short and related to the subject matter you are going to discuss in the research paper. If the title will be very long, people will avoid reading and move to the next research paper. We are living in a world, where everyone is in hurry and they do not have time to waste on reading long titles and then decide whether or whether not to read the full version. So, the best way to write the title for your research paper is to keep it short and interesting so the reader's eyes get attracted to it and should make sure to open it.

While selecting the title for your research paper, it is important and one of the effective ways to first jot down the points you are going to use and raise in your research paper like what topic is going to be discussed, what methods are going to be used, etc. If you have an idea about these, then it will become very easy for you to name your title which will also be relevant to your work.

But while writing an academic research paper, it is required by your professor that you submit your title before and after its approval you are allowed to do the research and write about it. Keep this submitted title as your rough title and try to do things in accordance with it. Once you have completed your work, again review your title and ask if the title and work match with each other. If they do then there is no need of replacing your title but if they don't, you need to think of something new which satisfies your research work.

While selecting a good title for your research paper, there are certain characteristics. The title of the research paper should accurately illustrate the purpose of your work. By reading the title, it should become clear that what is the subject you are going to talk about in your work and how well you have represented it. The next is to avoid abbreviations. Not all people are pro at recognizing the abbreviations for certain words. That is why it is always better to use the full forms in your title, so the reader easily understands what you are talking about. But if you want to use the abbreviations, then you can use them in your further research work.

The next characteristic which should be taken care of while creating a title for the research paper is that it gives a positive vibe. The title should not contain any such word which cringes the reader rather it should be very positive and able to attract the readers towards it. Moreover, the title of the research paper should not very long. The limit for writing the title should be between 10-15 words or less. More words than this could make the reader lose their interest in your work.

The title should be definable. This means that by reading the title, it should be cleared to the reader that what topic you are going to talk about along with the methods used in it. Some readers are looking for the specific topic and methods and if he finds both in a single paper, he would definitely give it a read. For this purpose, the title should explain both.

Further, the title of the research paper should mostly be in the phrase form. This sounds like a statement and is more attractive while they can also be created in the form of questions as most people search for this form. Both phrase and question form can be of great benefits. Also, it is better to avoid the use of words like analysis of or study of. These words make your work look boring and very direct. People are more attracted by interesting titles so try to come up with one. While writing a title, it is a kind of rule to capitalize the first alphabet of each word to put more emphasis on it.
