Executive Summary& Literature review on A Car Following Method to Relief Road Access Intervals

Category: Mechanical Engineering Paper Type: Dissertation & Thesis Writing Reference: APA Words: 950

The subject is about using the Car following method, to relief the road access intervals. The access to relief the road is connected by the facility that is provided on a roadside for the terminal drivers. However, intervals among the access which is often not to take in the consideration, for the sometimes very rough roads .The objectives of the subject are that developed the modelling approach to determine the accurate access intervals that are based on the car following theory. From relief the road into the mainstream the vehicles always change the lane at the quiet, slow speed like the conflict of the main streams that leads to the temporary decline in the traffic capacity. By using the car following model along with the capacity of design for the freeway which is correspondingly determined the expected maximum length which would effect. The length that is supposed is not reached for the next access as compare to avoid the interaction along with to determine a minimum interval among the access. The expectation regarding the study is that it could create an accurate relief road for the access of intervals. On the Urban road, through the influence of the length, the relief of the road access interval is determined. The vesicles varied lane form the road relief to the mainstream of the road. When the traffic is very heavy, then the vehicles could not change the lane into the mainstream of the road, and it is not the common case after all. Because the vehicles are discrete entities (Sun & Wang, 2015).

Literature review of A Car Following Method to Relief Road Access Intervals

According to the author Sun & et al. (2015),it is conducted that in the recent years at high speed the traffic is developed at the immensely way, especially during the megacities as well as in the Metropolises of China. Nowadays, the results that are most negative is developing the modern system of transportation that is very congestion. For the smooth operation, the reasonable design is a very critical issue in agencies like the transportation strategy (Sun & Wang, 2015). When the vehicles are driven very slowly, then the congestion occurs. For the problem, the relief road is considered very important as well as the comprehensive management tool. Form the non-motorized traffics along with the links of traffics; the relief road could separate the rapid traffic. By the access when needed, the vehicle changes the lane among the main road as well as the relief of road. During this method, the access of intervals could be the other issue which is supposed, and the long access interval is the problem on behalf of the drivers to get the terminals. First of all ensure the relief road it would work with accurate efficiency to determine the proper access of the interval (Sun & et.al, 2015).

A research study conducted MIKA Peter has thoroughly discussed the significance of Adaptive car following methods. According to the researcher the vehicle dynamics have drastically changed over the last few years. The researcher has stated in the study there is a huge need to find such ways through which road networks can be utilized more efficiently. The findings of the study indicate the mathematical models can be adopted for creating the car following model (Peter, 2018).

The above figure is showing   the architecture of the car following model.   In the figure, the desired distance of the car   which they want to keep can be seen.

In the research study which is conducted by Tie-Qiao Tang, Jian Zhang, Lian Chen and Hua Yan Shang  have provided brief information about vehicle safety. The researchers have proposed a car following model for the safe distance between the cars.  The safety distance which is evaluated in the study includes front safety distance and back safety distance. The results o the study shows that the model that is proposed in the study is safer and reliable than the full velocity difference model. According to the researchers, the prosed model is more precise and effective than the DVD model (Tang, Zhang, Chen, & Shang, 2017).

In the above figure, the front and back distance between the vehicles can be seen clearly.

The researchers S. Cafiso, C.D Agostino, R. Bak And M.Kiec have provided brief information regarding the road safety for passing relief lanes. According to the researchers ensuring road safety is highly important so that the drivers won't experience any accident related issues. In the study, the traffic conflict analysis has been performed to analyze the traffic-related issues in brief. According to the researchers, the lane size and passing cross sections are a major concern because they cause a number of conflicts (Cafiso, D’Agostino, Bąk, & Kieć, 2016).
