Abstract of Improving the psychological
measurement of technology related behaviors.
This
study aims to study human and technology interaction in this modern era of
sciences. According to the research analysis, technology use is increasing in
youngsters and adults. Specifically, researchers focused on the use of the
smartphone. Understanding of technology use in human life is highly important
to research topic. From past to now, technology is modifying human behaviour
and generating overwhelmingly negative consequence. Research study argues with
the challenges and impact of the smartphone while considering findings of
research articles on psychological measures.
Keywords: Smartphone technology, Behavriaol changes, and Human-Technology
interaction.
1 Introduction of Improving the
psychological measurement of technology related behaviors.
The
article is written on technology-related behaviours and the role of the
smartphone in changing behaviours of smartphone users. In accordance with the
research article, interaction with technology bring numerous changes in the
psychological behaviour of users. “In situ” application is used by many
researchers to calculate and determine the interaction between human and
computer. The main objectives of this research paper are capturing the
behaviour of smartphone behaviour, objective measures of smartphone usage, and
changes in psychological behaviour as a result of interaction between
technology and human being. The same problem is discussed by other researchers
in previous research studies. Researchers studied human behaviour and
technology to elaborate on behaviour modification in the result of excessive
usage of technology or its involvement in daily life. These research studied
has concluded that technology is the independent variable for human behavioural
outcomes. These research studies have contributed to enhancing human
understanding regarding this research topic as well as it enriches the
literature with smart technologies impact in our life. Such research work is
highly important for the development and progress of our society as it can
provide an understanding of how much we can involve technology in our life.
2.
Research Methodology of Improving
the psychological measurement of technology related behaviors.
In
this section, information regarding the methodology and techniques applied in
the research article is discussed in detail. The research was an attempt to create
a conceptual model for technology use and misunderstandings regarding the use of
the smartphone. Secondary research data was collected to propose a conceptual
model of technology use and its impact. According to this conceptual model, problematic
and excessive level of technology usage is behavioural addiction. To test the
hypothesis about technology and another variable of interest regarding this
research work, various research articles are analyzed and scales discussed. To
resolve the research problem various psychometric tools are developed. Moreover,
researchers tried to validate single estimates to the users (smartphone users)
and changes estimated in the behaviour of users. The description of this
research solution is a smartphone and other electronic devices are expected to
cause bring changes in the behaviour and support social activities.
3. Experimental Evaluation
of Improving the psychological measurement of
technology related behaviors.
According
to the experiment results and analysis of collected data, the scale is changing
over time as changes are occurring in the technology use. Study of self-report
instrument elaborated on the quantitative data outcomes from the year 2004 to
the year 2016. Although, current measures and scales explained that behaviour depends
upon engaging with technology use. For instance, with passive consumption, health-related
benefits are linked with the engaging of users with smartphones and other
technologies. In this research study, current technologies are discussed in the
light of positive changes in the behaviour as well as the negative consequences
of technology on human mental health conditions. Results represent that technology
particularly smartphone technology has negative consequences and effects for
human psychological well-being and health (Ellis, 2019).
Considering results, social interaction and psychological conditions are the
supportive factors for the smartphone technologies however these social
interaction and satisfaction of psychological need are a positive point for smartphone
users as identified by the research study. Following the results of this
research work, the biggest threat in the life of human being is because of the
excessive involvement of technology. People perceive that technology limits the
physical activity of the human being and causes to increase problems in the
users of technology. However, these disadvantages and limitations are limited
to those smartphone users who use excessively smartphone technology and similar
technologies in their daily life. Additionally, researchers also identified
risk factor for the early exposure to children because of social media. Although,
youngsters with smartphones most of the time play games and watch videos on
social media while sitting in the same position for hours. Such youngsters even
don't participate in any kind of physical activity. As a result of this, childhood
obesity cases are increasing in the society which makes smartphone use critical
to user’s mental and physical health (Ellis, 2019).
4. Discussion of Improving the psychological measurement of
technology related behaviors.
In
this section, I have presented the outcomes of my critical analysis conducted
on smartphone use and its behaviour changes. In my opinion, the results
presented in the research article are validating. The overall solution is effective
although it has some issues/problems. For instance, researcher Ellis (2019)
presented that technology generates a negative impact on the physical health of
the users however, the researcher did not present examples relate to negative
health consequences. In my opinion, technology causes important issues such as
hearing problems and eyes sight weakness problems also because of excessive.
Thus, by considering the excessive use of technology negative to mental and
physical health there is need to study a solution to this problem in a better
way as we cannot replace smartphones from our daily life. Conclusively,
researchers need to suggest a better alternative to smartphone use. Moreover, the
research study is mainly supported by the research data obtained from secondary
research sources which reduce its creditability. In my opinion, researchers
should propose another alternative option for technology users as well as they
should collect primary research material to study such research problems
appropriately. Excluding this, in my opinion, researchers have identified
information which will be useful for the parents and other researchers to
understand the negative consequences of excessive technology and smartphone
uses. However, for this purpose empirical and experimental research studies
should be conducted rather than the collection of responses from the survey as
it will be totally based on the respondent's perception about technology and
smartphones.
