Mental health can be referred
to as the behavioral, cognitive and emotional well being of humans. And the
study is about how an individual can think, behave and react to different
situations. Term mental health can also be used to classify mental disorders.
Mental health can be affected by stressful events and circumstances of one's
daily life. Mental health can also be stated as an individual ability to enjoy
life. According to the World health organization, mental health can be
described as the state of well-being in which individuals realize about his or
her abilities and how they cope with a stressful event an ability to make his
or her contributions in a social community (Newman, 2017)
According to Carl Jung, “mental
illness can cause emotional distress.”
And the subject in which we studied mental
health and mental disorder in psychology. And psychology is the branch of
social science which deals with behaviors of humans scientifically. And
psychology has a vast field, which includes the study related to different
areas. And who deals with them are known as a psychologist. And Psychologists
said that we all have the potential to create mental health problems, no
matters how old we are, either we are poor or rich (Hankir & Zaman, 2013)
There
are some most common types of mental disorders that are given in DSM-5
discussed are given below: Neuro-developmental disorder, communication
disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders,
anxiety disorder, Schizophrenic disorder, and other related and specified
disorders. Neurodevelopment disorders are related to child disorders, which are
intellectually disabled. Communication disorder includes speech and stuttering
disorders. And anxiety disorders include panic, phobic disorders. Mood
disorders include major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, stress-related
disorders. And schizophrenic disorders refer to as the most critical mental
condition. This disorder can be classified as psychosis (Cherry, 2019)
