The focus of this study has been on green
practices and lean practices which play an important role in enhancing the
performance and capability of the supply chain. The theme of this research
study was to evaluate the effectiveness of SCM in the context of global
economy. The research questions in this study were concerned with whether a
positive relationship exists between information sharing and supply chain
performance, whether organizational performance and profitability are
influenced by supply chain, and global economic strength and stability are
affected by which factors. Meanwhile, the objectives of this study were to
access the relationship existing between supply chain performance and
information sharing and to analyze the aspects of supply chain having an impact
on organizational performance and profitability among other objectives. In
order to answer the research questions and accomplish these research
objectives, two research methods were considered. Both secondary and primary
research techniques have been considered in this research. The secondary
research technique was literature review and the primary research technique was
questionnaire which were considered in this research for collecting relevant
data and analyzing it. In order to analyze the data, tools such as SPSS were
utilized and results were obtained. It has been determined supply chain
management has a direct relationship with organizational performance and global
economy. In addition to it, it has been recommended in this paper that data
from outside the US should also be considered for further broadening the study.
Researchers can also utilize this research for developing their own studies.
