Summary
of the program
The program is developed
by Saralee Jamieson and Lisa Wallace as former human environmental sciences
specialist and former human development Specialist, University of Missouri
Extension, respectively. The aim of the program is to develop character and
human competence in the families. According to the recent researches’ families
are getting more influences as compared to the previous issues. The main issue
is contribution of children schools, adult behavior in society and development
of the society.
Strengths
of the program
The concern of the
present program is to deal with the problems of individuals in the families and
dysfunctional family relationships. For instance, the problems related to teen
sexual acting, youth suicide, runaways, teen pregnancy, adolescent depression,
child abuse and family violence. There
are nine traits of the program including clear roles, communication,
spirituality, family and community ties, caring and appreciation,
encouragement, cope with the changes, time together as family time, and
commitments.
Participant
of the programs
Participants of the program are men,
women, children, newly married couples, and individuals living in the
community.
Workshop
content
The
workshop deals with issues and problems of step families, cohabitation
families, single parent families, cross-generational families, foster and group
home families, and joint or shared custody families.
