Key concept Olympics 2008 in Beijing:
Events
that are being associated with the sports have grown much larger and also
assumed much more of the importance on the basis of global scale. When any of
the mega event like Olympics comes to a certain place and nothing has been
hosted like this before on such a large scale, then obviously different
challenges start arising that needs to be dealt with in a proper and
appropriate way. In this section, main purpose is to know about the key concept
that has been used in the article. This article has been chosen for the use of
research because this is the area where the Olympic Games 2008 summer took
place. It is not possible to highlight all the issues in such a small
assignment but here main focus is to know about the problems that have been
faced by the different people who were the part of this whole Olympics 2008.
Issues identified in this article Olympics 2008 in Beijing:
This
is of no shock that when such a large event takes place at any of the place
then different problems arise and such problems need to have their solution to
avoid any kind of disturbance in the future times. So in this article, and in
this section the issues that took place are going to be discussed.
Different
Chinese organizers were mainly concerned related to some of the local threats
of all the domestic terrorism and different kind of disturbances through which
disturbance in the event takes place. So one of the major issue or problem that
was being faced in such a large event is that God Forbids any bad thing can
happen while in such a large gathering. (Abadie, A. 2004.)
Other
main issue that came up in the mind while planning such a large event was that
local people could get a chance to release their grudges. This was main issue
to be noted because in the past many people did such miserable things like
explosives in rural areas and many things. Different protests could also be a
plan of such people to annoy the guests and to cause disturbances in the event.
Security
was being done properly and everything was under control but still there were
some issues that came to be known in later times. These issues were maybe not
major ones but next time people can make them a major one by using them as a
weak point.
Earthquake
is one of the biggest issue in china due to its topography and people were much
scared because of the mishap that took place just few days ago. After effects
of such incidents remain for a long time duration and that was the other issue
that has been identified in the article just before the start of Beijing
Olympics 2008. There is no doubt in it that in future times such events for
sure will take place in China but ultimately people will always have the fear
in their mind no matter how much safety and protection they have been given.
Methodology of the Article:
Summer
Olympic Games 2008 took place in chine and people took much interest in such a
large event, not only just the players or the common people took interest but
the Government also did take much interest in the event as it was the biggest
event and could change the history and future both of a country China. Usually
such large events like Olympic Games are being associated with the positive
social and economic perspectives both by the Government. This event was the
source of an opportunity for the earning of foreign exchange, addressing of the
social changes and enhancement of the bilateral relations. Methodology which
has been used in the article to know about the findings, problems and solutions
of two types:
·
Quantitative:
These Quantitative methods are associated with the measuring of identifiable
variables like weight and height. To know the relation between them as well.
·
Qualitative:
These Qualitative methods are mainly concerned with the understanding that what
people are thinking about a certain phenomenon especially in such cases where
variables are not being identified in such an easy way or method. In such cases
where feelings or other things cannot be measured, Quantification is a word
that can be used easily.
At
the first place data was being collected through the audience or common people
by using different kind of questionnaires having different questions with
multiple options. Such questions helped in better planning and understanding
both. After the collection of data, different mathematical researches were
being used to analyze the data and know the ratio in proper number.
Furthermore, such data was being analyzed using different graphs. (Mieczkowski,
Z., 1995)
Some Findings or Recommendations of
the study:
This
article gives the complete data about better understanding of a rationale to
estimate the short, medium and the long term impacts of such large mega events.
Understanding the impact of occasions properly enables extra dependable
estimation of monetary and different economic fees and their incorporation into
the planning process. The estimation of monetary costs is crucial and must be
adopted in the occasion making plans segment for adequate representation and
know-how of the short term impacts. However, the alternative risk factors
concerning socio-cultural, environmental and security problems are longer term
and also want to be understood. (Minnaert, L. 2012.)
Second
thing is that in future, different event organizers should try their best to
not just secure the interest but participation of the past members as well.
This can be of much help in understanding to organize the committees. In
future, research should mainly focus upon the different effective uses of
information by the organizing of committees when they plan for any large event
like Olympic Games in Beijing.
