It is a fact that government of UAE is trying it’s
hard to achieve number one position in every field. That’s why government makes
every possible effort to find those resources, which can make our lives more
developed, easier as well as civilized. The Ministry of Education should also comply
with the vision of the government, and keeping this vision in view, that have
launched a program for school members and name of the program is LMS program. The
purpose of this particular program is to keep school members in contact with
each other under a single platform. It is important to realize the fact that
need for such portals have become a crucial element for education system in so
many ways, and it has become to be a main reference not only for teachers, but
for educational leaders, students and their parents as well. Such portals are
important in keeping things under a single platform, which easily connects
everyone.
In today’s dynamic era, where technology has made
its mark in every field and things have been developing so quickly, it is need
of the hour that education sector also benefits from the essence of technology.
It is great that UAE government’s education sector realized this need and LMS
program has been launched, which is great way to connect people in the
education sector. Moreover, it is a great way to transfer ideas, learning
patterns as well as teaching materials so that great dimensions are added. It
is needed to mention here that for this paper, Research Topic is “The Effect of
Smart Learning Gateway (LMS) in education sector”. The primary research
objective is to measure that how LMS program affects the performance of students
and how much understanding level of these students is raised in primary stages
of sector H, Kalba Schools.
Methodological Designs on Educational
system of UAE
It has mentioned earlier that research topic
for this paper is “Smart Learning Gateway (lms) in Education Sector”. As it is
mention here that there is a cross sectional research design for this research
as it looks to be more suitable research design in so many ways. This research
design is a good tool to analyze sampled group and investigate that what
difference are there between different groups and can come to a valid
conclusion. It is explain here that use a survey for this research containing
total 20 questions. The good thing about selected research design is that can be
work on variables to collect data.
This research design apply on grade classes
of school particularly focusing on fourth grade. The students of this school
have various similar kinds of characteristics, but main different between these
students is their geographical features. The other good thing about cross
sectional research design is that it is less time taking as there was not enough
time to go for deep kind of research. This study focus on two primary
observations; first the internal and the other is external.
The other considerable research design is comparative
research design. In this research design, the comparison of two or more than
two things is made. This descriptive design will help me to select two
different groups, and then find out similarities as well as differences about
them.
So, in this research study, there is a need to
compare the effects of LMS in school as well as one mother school from the
Sector H. Both qualitative and quantitative research approaches will be used in
research to collect as well as analyze relevant data.
Quantitative Research approach of
Educational system of UAE
In quantitative research method, the case is
quantified by doing the numerical analysis of collected data. There are four
major types of quantitative research method; correlational, experimental,
descriptive, and quasi-experimental. The numerical values can be part of this
research method as data is collected through surveys and questionnaires.
Qualitative Research approach of
Educational system of UAE
The qualitative research method
comes under the exploratory research design, which is primarily used in understanding
motivations, feelings, thinking, opinions as well as reasons. The information
collected through this method is very important as it goes beyond behaviors. It
is important to mention here that five types are there under qualitative
method; case study approach, grounded theory, phenomenological, narrative,
ethnography.
In view, the qualitative research
method is most appropriate as it is about measuring the feelings, thoughts as
well as experiences of the population. The quantitative research method is also
good, but that is not suitable for research because such approach is more
appropriate for numerical data and information.
Still, there is a need to use both
of these research methods, because it collectively can be better for study to
gain better conclusions. The quantitative method will be used to find out that
how performance of students is enhanced with the help of LMS. On the other
hand, qualitative method will be used to find out that what the effect
relationship of LMS is between the Sector H primary schools.
The sequence of both methods will be
used properly like first quantitative method will be used to collect all
relevant statistical data, and then qualitative method will be used afterwards
to qualitative data that how LMS has played its part in increasing the students’
level in their classes as well as exams.
The samples applied for the research
of Educational system of UAE
The
applicable samples of study are based on both qualitative and quantitative
methods. The population for the study is those students, who are currently
using LS in grade 4, whereas sample for this study will be students using LS
from the Fatwa bent Abdul Malek School and for comparative study the other selected
school will be Almohad School.
The
survey will be applied in research study and random sampling will be used to
conduct survey.
·
How to conduct a random survey in research?
The
population will be defined in the sample. For instance, 200 students from
school population will be taken as sample for this research study. In the end, selected
samples will be used and instruct about them that how it are applicable in this
study in particular:
Quantitative
(probability) of
Educational system of UAE
The
researcher can use this type when something examined to be happening on the
basis of probability. It is important to mention here that random sampling will
be used by me in this study as it will provide more validity to the research.
Sample is
taken from the population, like in this study students’ sample is taken from
the population of Fatma Bent Abdulamlek School. There would not accept any other volunteers in
the sample because it will have an effect on results. That’s why students will
be taken from selected population and random sampling along with stratified
sampling will be used to collect data.
Sample errors: It is important to avoid any sample errors
during the sampling as results of the study will not be valid if samples will
be coming with errors. The sample should be good enough to get validity of the
research. For instance, if take wrong sample, then students may respond that
LMS have not been beneficial for them, whereas it actually use any other
learning platform, which means that are not relevant to this particular study.
So, there
is a need to avoid any kind of sample errors, and correct sample will be chosen
from selected population so that valid results can be obtained.
Sampling Methods of Educational system
of UAE
Simple
Random Sampling of
Educational system of UAE
The
random sampling allows the probability of being chosen for all students from
the population as are taken randomly.
Sampling bias is
selecting sample from the population with some kind of bias that ensure that
sampling has no sampling bias.
Method Removes
bias: The
random sampling method is the best way to remove any kind of sampling bias as students
will be chosen randomly without favoring anyone.
Stratified
sampling is important to be used in study, because it
helps in representing population’s subgroups. For instance, the age or weight
of people can be a subcategory for a group, where sample is taken on the basis
of different age range. In this study,
students selected by considering their class numbers as well as students’ size
in the classes.
Non- probability sampling of
Educational system of UAE
The
bias is encouraged in this kind of sampling like AlDharah School was selected
on the basis of bias, which raises questions on the validity of research.
Convenience The people who can easily be reached from a
population as compared to others are chosen as per convenience sampling method.
One of such examples is taking polls from Facebook users.
Purpose sampling it is
also named as subjective sampling, where samples are taken from population on
the basis of characteristics. The sample have chosen students as per different
preferences by looking at their characteristics.
The different stages of research of
Educational system of UAE
There are various stages of research such as
reliability, validity as well as reliability.
Reliability: A
research achieves reliability when taken measures of the study are consistent
and valid enough to measure the collected data.
Reliability (consistent):
To win
the trust of students, online survey will be used in this research so that can
give their honest opinion without any fear.
External (inter-rater) research of
Educational system of UAE
There is a need to talk to teachers about
research and collect data from them as well so that can remain consistent in
getting information from external resources as well.
Internal reliability of Educational system of UAE
The
internal reliability will be achieved by asking variety of questions.
Validity of
Educational system of UAE
The
survey is actually ensuring the validity as it comes with valid questions to
collect relevant information.
Face validity of
Educational system of UAE
If participants
feel that questions are not relevant to them or not relevant to the study in
any ways, then should not answer those questions.
About the sample of Educational system
of UAE
v The research use sample size which will be much enough
large size.
v The research must be precise when describe the population
to make the sample be close to population as possible. So, that will help to
reduce any errors in samples and increase validity.
v The research will repeat the test for the sample over
period of time. For example: compare between term one and term two.
v The research will use a combination sample method, for
example of this is: if use random sampling that will help to reduce bias.
v The research will implement study in school because it's
suitable for me and will facilitate research.
v The research will use probability methods to lead me to a
good represent population.
v The research will ensure to represent the sample size
characteristic differences which is based on the population. For example: if many students in the
population then the sample should have students in the same level (age).
In regards to sample of Educational
system of UAE
The large enough, adequate sample size were used. The
description of survey was précised hence it was possible for students to
reduces sample errors and increase validity. It was ensured that the sample
size characteristic differences are represented based on the Students. A
non-random Organization (Aldharah School) was chosen as it was convenient and
random students were picked for research.
Conclusion on Educational system of
UAE
The Survey Result revealed improvement
in students’ performance and satisfaction for the Smart Education with Smart
Learning. Greatest Improvement was observed through open discussion and as
evidence a score card was collected as improvement data. The survey report claimed
90% of the students approved the Smart Learning in Education.
