Industrial
Sector
This research aims to analyze the effect of gender bias on female
promotions in the Saudi industrial sector. The nature of research is empirical
in the sense that it is based on the feedback and responses of the employees
from different Saudi companies. There are two research methods that are mostly
used, i.e. qualitative and quantitative. However, this research is based on
both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. Hence the budget for
this research is developed for both qualitative and quantitative research
approaches and
3.2 The Model of The Effect of Gender Bias
on Female Promotions in the Saudi Industrial Sector
The linear regression model is used in this research that is one of
the best models that attempts to model a relationship between the dependent and
independent variables and fits linear equations to research’s observed data.
For example, in this research, the researcher aims to analyze the effect of
promotion bias on female promotion in Saudi industrial sector using a linear
regression model. The association between female promotion and gender bias is
must apply a linear regression model, and the literature review has provided
enough association in this regard, so this is a suitable model for this
research.
The equation in a linear regression model is in the form, i.e. Y =
a + b X where Y is independent variable, and X is independent variable, b is
the slope of line, and a represents the intercept (intercepts refers to the value
of dependent variable when independent variable is 0). The researcher can
increase the number of independent variables by adding control variables in the
linear regression model that in some ways affect the dependent variable. The
linear regression model was developed by Carl Friedrich Gauss, a legendary
mathematician, and one of the most popular statistical models used to examine
the relationship between two or more variables (Yan, 2009).
