UniSim Design
Suite of Honewell is an intuitive software of process modeling that helps not
only me but also countless other engineers create dynamic and steady-state
models for the design of a plant, monitoring the performance, management of
assets, business planning, and troubleshooting. It wouldn’t be wrong to say
that the market of process simulation is being transformed. Triggered by new
requirements of customer and technological advancements, models of process
simulation are leveraged into high-value solutions now like interlinked and
connected operational monitoring. The best thing that I like about UniSim is
that it provides accurate outcomes.
There are some important features
that I like about UniSim. For instance, its precision is unmatched and it is
capable of delivering powerful steady and field-proved state along with dynamic
modeling under the very same environment.
Even
though it depends on just how good the user is at inputting the required data,
UniSim provides results without any type of error. I can definitely say that
the result delivered by it matches the universal one that is provided in
textbooks. Normally, modeling programs are not that accurate and they often
need to be started again but UniSim is not like that. Another feature that I
like about it is its unbeatable speed. I have actually come across several
programs and I can easily say that its speed hasn’t been matched yet.
Regardless of the complexity of the whole network and numerous inputs, it
doesn’t lag for even a bit. Last time when I was using the software, I had to
design a very complicated design which required me to invest several hours of
mine into it. I constantly used the software and it didn’t disappoint me at all
as the speed was constant all the time.
My experience with UniSim has been
quite productive because it is very easy to use unlike many other software for
modeling. Most of the applications are so complex that they require the user to
watch videos or read a tutorial for understanding just what to do first and how
all the functions work. However, with UniSim, I don’t remember doing anything
like that. All I had to do was to run the software and start working with it
because it is quite easy to use and even a beginner can operate it. This is one
of the best parts of this software. Lastly, I would say that the overall layout
of the software is not dull at all. I have used some applications with dull
themes which didn’t look intuitive at all. However, UniSim is a high-class modeling
software that not only works like it but also looks in such a way. Its features
are quite user-friendly.
For instance, while considering the
design protocol suggestions we can prepare a simulation in Unisim through the
presented below method. Following example is about the acid gas simulation. In
this amine contactor is fed with water saturated natural gas stream. Rich/lean
exchangers a rich amine in the given flame for heat (Honeywell,
2009).
To regenerator feed temperature set out was above 200 °F. Somehow, before
reaching to this temperature acid gas started rejection from regenerator at the
temperature of 120 °F. See the presented below figures.
Design Process of UniSim software
1. At the first, list H2O, CO2, H2S, DEA
and N2.
2. DEA solution will be used for inlet
gas and absorber scrubbing. In this process of heating at a specified
temperature sweet gas will be sent to absorber and acid to regenerator.
3. For the purpose of simulation steady
state simulation solutions will be used.

Aspen effective in dealing with problems. In my personal opinion, I think that
one of the most important reasons for the popularity of this software is that
it is packed with features that other programs don’t have. For instance, it can
be analyzed by using the software that it is quite detailed and has a function
for all operations that a user might need.
Whenever
I have used Aspen, I have found the right tool available in the software to be
used by me. For instance, it enables time-saving and intuitive workflows which
allow the user to enjoy integrated and seamless tools for a diversity of
functions. It can be used for not only equipment design, safety analysis,
energy management, and even costing. This is what makes Aspen quite reliable
and useful in all of the departments of an organization. In personal use, it is
quite innovative as a software but even in organizations, it proves to deliver
success.
Furthermore,
Aspen a simulation program supports operational decision. It enables lifecycle
modeling in terms of design through different types of operations for real-time
optimization, online monitoring of performance, and faster troubleshooting. One
of the reasons for just why I like this program is that it is customizable
according to the needs of a user. It has a variety of functions that can be
used according to the task at hand or otherwise not at all. Another important
aspect of Aspen is its trusted process simulation. For instance, it allows the
users to depend on a process simulator that is developed on more than
thirty-five years of feedback from the best chemical organizations and
experience of working with them. In addition, it enables all of its users to
access the latest innovations in the simulation process.
Finally
I would like to say that I enjoyed working on aspen more than the unisim
because I found aspen program less complicated than unisum last reason why I prefer only using Aspen is
the creative and eye-catching layout of the program. No doubt, it is very
attractive as a program and that is among the reasons why people and
organizations over the world use this program. All of its features prove just
how innovative it is as a software.
